XTRATUFMen's Grn 6" Slip O

I purchased a pair of Grundens Deck Boss and these Xtratuf 6” to compare which ones would be better for me to do yard work in. I’m a size 11 with thick calves/legs. Both shoes seemed waterproof and well made. The xtratuf had more room in the toe area and the shoe opening of the xtratuf was a better design over the Grundens. When walking, the shoe opening of the xtratuf did not chafe my leg, where the Grundens did. Also I could feel the rubber part of the top of the shoe kink on my foot in the Grunden, and the Xtratuf did not. I liked the straps on the xtratuf better too. The Grundens was a stiff loop and was stitched at the top, the xtratuf was a wider, softer loop and was stitched into the shoe inside and out. Pictures are of the shoe Rocky Boots shipped me. The glue is leached into the top and the soles were oddly ground all around the circumference of the shoe.

One year light use and the surface rubber material is cracking! So they’re not waterproof anymore. Also, the loops started to fray almost immediately. See pictures. I was surprised given the wirecutter ratings and ratings here. These cost twice other options - and that’s OK if the quality is higher. It’s not! The warranty is 6 months only for staying waterproof!

Look good for this kind of boot, but the strap didn’t hold up.
