Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, Fair Isle-Calm

I made this poncho (see picture) for a grandaughter. It worked up beautifully. It took 2 full skeins to do this poncho (child size 7-8) and there was not enough for the collar and ruffle so I did them in white. It is a 4 ply worsted weight that works up nicely with a size H crochet hook.

I knew that my sister was going to give me a new winter coat for my birthday. I didn't know what color it would be. I wanted to update my winter wardrobe by making a new hat and scarf. This yarn fits the bill. It makes a lovely mottled fabric, is machine washable and dryable, and holds its shape. I cast on 48 stitches on size 10 needles, and worked k4 p4 ribbing for the entire length of the scarf. I used two skeins to make a scarf that's just short of six feet. Happy knitting, y'all!

I like the yarn such pretty colors. Haven’t put tassels on my scarf yet but can show the pattern. Yarn is not very soft but that really doesn’t matter for a scarf. Thickness is fine. I bought this fairly cheap $6.00 I think, but now quite a bit more. I am a beginner so I really don’t know much about yarn! It was fun to make and I picked easiest pattern! Ha! Ha! I will have enough to make the tassels along with scarf with a little left over!!

The color of this yarn is beautiful but the texture is scratchy and hard and very hard to work with because it splits and there’s no stretch to it. I’m making a blanket and will finish it because of the color. I will try to wash with lots of fabric softener when I’m done to see if it will soften up. I’m not a fan of red heart because it isn’t very soft but I thought I’d try it because of the color. No more red heart for me.

Sections of the yarn are randomly knotted together throughout the skein. I am about halfway through one skein and have encountered three knots.

Beautiful variegated color, like spring! Not as itchy as some Red Heart yarn, knits up very soft. The pattern repeat on a knitted hat was not variegated stripped lines, yet more like a speckled repeat with dashes, if that makes sense.

I was looking for this exact color scheme for a blanket I was going to make. Easy to order from Amazon and even though it was not really a savings for the yarn I was happy to get it purchased and blanket came out beautiful. Love to use Red Heart and the multi colored yarn is really the greatest.

I purchased a number of these to make crochet scarfs. The yarn works up fast and it holds it's twist well. And the colors are terrific. I really enjoyed working with it. And my scarfs work up great. It was a good purchase

This yarn is easy to use a bout to make hats with looks.

Liked the way it worked with my Addi.

Disappointed! The quantity of size does not match the price. I will not be purchasing this item again.
