As an artist, I can say: Benjamin Renner has NO RIGHT to be this good. The writing is hilarious. I can’t remember the last time I laughed out loud so many times at a comic book. Its probably safe for, I dunno, 7 and up? No idea on that but it’s pretty clean throughout. The overall message is endearing and worth sharing. The art is phenomenal - it looks simplified, but it’s simple like Al hirschfeld is simple by only putting what needs to be there to communicate and leaving out everything else. That takes real skill. The silhouette/cutout style of framing is organic and intimate. If you copied this style you’d learn a lot about what to do right. His gesture and action are clear and perfect. Timing is great. And as a note, the translation from French is really, really good. This is the book that they made into a movie.This book will be a treasured part of anyone’s library, whether you’re an art nerd, a fan of animation, or just want a funny, well written book with a good message. It makes you feel good when you finish reading it. Renner has no right producing something this good, but thank Odin he did.

My seven year old (and I) loved it. Good story, loved the art, just a great graphic novel.

I have know this book via a YouTube trailer of Mr. Fox and other tales. I haven’t watch the film yet because I want to read to book first. You won’t be disappointed by purchasing it. Suitable for both children and adults. Highly recommended!

My grandson, age 7, read this book from the library. He laughed and laughed. I had him read it to me and it was a delight. I then had to have a copy of my own. I hope we see more from this author.

Hysterical!! A bit long for the toddler I purchased it for (My bad: I forgot to check the age range and grade level Amazon posted for this book.), but older children, and especially parents, can certainly identify with this witty tale. Absolutely delightful. Huge hit with my 8 year old. Gorgeous artwork. Genuinely funny and strangely insightful about parenting and being a kid.

Absolutely incredible comic book with wonderfully animated illustrations by Benjamin Renner. Captivating characters with an abundance of emotion and narrative, it’s a must have!

We got the Spanish version from the library and we'll use it for English lessons with my son. It's really funny, love to see it in a theatre play!

Krasse, humorvolle Geschichte um einen gar nicht so bösen Fuchs. Auf jeder Seite ist ein Brüller. Bizarres Personal: ein fauler Hütehund, resolute Hühner (wo ist eigentlich der Hahn?), Schweinchen und Karnickel und, als besonderes Gimmick, ein Wolf als Erfolgsberater. Lang lebe die Steckrübe!
