A real blast from the past.
I have just watched the whole 7 series' back to back over a three week period and have enjoyed every moment. I watched this series in the 70s and loved it and was a little worried about going back but need not have been. The clothes and kitchen ware reminded me so much of my own home (well my parent's home) and the difference in trucks then and now is astounding. Every actor takes their part well and I found myself looking forward to sitting down with the Hammonds every evening. As a social reminder it is quite an eye opener. Drinks of every kind were taken in large amounts throughout the day and evening and the drinker then drove home. I wonder did people really drink that much and drive? If so, I am surprised that anyone survived without seat belts and crumple zones!!I really loved the old, rather uninspiring trucks and the kipper ties and terrible outfits that I am sure were the contemporary height of fashion. Jean Anderson takes the part of the domineering old Mrs Hammond so well that it is difficult to know whether to applaud her acting or hate her guts!! I chose a bit of both! Many characters transit the series' and each one adds something to the story. I think it was probably a great thing to act in this series because I believe it is one of the best series of its time. Still love it and will surely watch it all again sometime. The final episode did a grand but not too predictable job of tying up ends to various plots but some characters will stay with me for a while I am sure as I ponder their activities post series and wonder if things come good/go wrong for them in their future. This was as good as a good book and I really love to read!!!

I’m as hooked on this as I was when it was first shown
I had just left university when this first came out and I watched it every week with my parents and my boyfriend. It was undoubtedly the highlight of our week’s viewing and perfect for a Sunday evening. I recently came across a second hand copy of series 1 and was sure that it wouldn’t seem as good now. I was wrong - I think I’m enjoying it even more second time round. After watching series 1, I knew that I wanted to watch all 7 series and this box set was cheaper than looking for them separately. I love being reminded of the fashions and cars of that period (and I had forgotten how much people smoked in those days). The acting is of a uniformly high standard led by the wonderful Jean Anderson as the matriarch. I’m sure this would be a huge hit once again if the BBC ever decided to repeat it

Vintage but vanilla
Into Season 5 and it does not disappoint. Like Breaking Bad, takes a few eps to warm to, but after you're past the dry opening you'll find yourself on your next marathon. Colin Baker doesn't appear until S4, but when he does look out, Hammond brothers! An era when everyone smoked, drank, kept their clothes on. No mobile phones, no computers and no swearing. Well written and good enough fair to watch with your mum. Recommended.

On the road again
Having watched this series - from series 2 - when it first aired I have only so far seen seirs 1 which is 3 DVD's - there are 27 discs in this the complete series. I am really enjoying it and it is better than what the TV is showing.if you never watched it, you might find it hard, continuous smoking in the work place, and reaching for a bottle of something as soon as they arrive home from work !It is about the trials and trobles of a Haulage business, family life, affairs. No bad language. I is very enjoyable and can recomend. I will add further as and when I think there is a need.

Excellent box set
This is an epic series from the 1970s (1972 - 76). It is is a great little time capsule from the 1970s (actors, houses, phones, cars, jobs and lives, etc.).Have waited many years for the full box set to be released and very pleased with the result.Note: If buying outside of the UK make sure you have an older DVD player that won't recognize the zone encryption. My Blu-Ray player would not play the discs but an older DVD/VHS unit does. Buy it before it's sold out!

Superb Viewing
This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. 27 discs to look at, each containing 3 - 4 40 minute episodes. I am halfway through and enjoying every minute. Takes me back to the 1970`s when I watched this series on TV. An absolute must for anyone of a certain age.

A Classic Series, Good Price, Very Poor Outside Packaging.
Complete Classic Series. Value for money, as more expensive buying individual sets. The dvds are housed in the usual sturdy/safe Amary cases, each containg 3-4 dvds per series. The set also comes with a seperate programme/series guide.Only downside is the paper thin pathetic excuse of a "box" the individual dvd cases are housed in. It is totally useless, with no strength in it whatsoever. It will not last long with the removal and inserting of the dvd cases. In fact the paper box is only fit to be thrown away.As said earlier, A Great Series, Great Price £99.99, but the outside packaging could and should have been much better.
