It would help...
...if she read it though! Bought this for my 91 year old MIL for whom we'd bought a new laptop as she'd been complaining that her old one was not up to the job any more. We suspect that it may be more that she is forgetting things and so we hoped this would act as a useful aide memoire and tool. I've used these books as a basis for my apps training sessions so I know they are great, just wish she'd take a few minutes to read the steps than constantly ring the phone...

Just what I needed.
delivery was unbelievably fast and the book brand new. very impressive. It gives information very clearly and is simple to refer to, it will be very useful for lots of problems to a "senior" with not a great deal of knowledge of computing.

but I was well aware of that and it suits me fine.
OK this book covers the Windows 8 operating system, but I was well aware of that and it suits me fine.

I passed the senior mark over a decade ago. So I should qualify for this book.
I have to admit that I used several versions before reading the book so I cannot tell what it would be like to be introduced to Microsoft Office by this book. What I can tell is that it is good to have a book that tells you want you know but explains it differently. And I do not want to sound like know-it-all snot as I have learned a few very useful things. I found the newer Office too simple and kept trying to do things the hard way. That will teach me to read first. We do not want to get Label Printing mixed up with mail-merge.The book is well organized and if you have other "For Seniors" in easy steps books this follows the same pattern.Just a note I picked Microsoft 2013 so I did not have to keep paying a yearly fee. One mistake I made was installing it under an account that used an old email address, and then changing email addresses which force a new account. Registered a product under the new account to find that after that you cannot transfer the Microsoft 2013 from one account to the other.
