Dropped right in my P1S and worked right from the get-go. No issues, definitely much better than the stock gear assembly!

Swapping out the extruder gear assembly on my Bambu X1 Carbon has become almost routine at this point, given the number of times I’ve had to do it. But the Xirbbo Nano-Coated Extrusion Head Gear Kit feels like a much-needed upgrade. The installation was straightforward, though I did have to wrestle a bit with the bearing in the original gear assembly so I could use it for this one.The real improvement, though, is the helical gear design. You can actually feel the difference when feeding filament. This extruder gear just screams durability, which is exactly what I’m hoping for. After going through two stock assemblies, I’m banking on this nano-coated setup to outlast anything I’ve used before.What I’m most excited about is the material upgrade—this isn’t just about toughness. The nano-coated mold steel and hardened gears don’t just sound impressive; they really do deliver. The aluminum handle is an improvement on the standard plastic ones that tend to wear down and need replacing. With a Rockwell hardness rating that high, and surface hardness off the charts, I’m optimistic this will mean fewer replacements and a longer service life overall. I’m looking forward to seeing how it handles over time, especially with more demanding filaments.

I got this for one of my P1P printers. I've had to disassemble the extruder before, so installing this part was trivial. It was a drop in part. No issues with fit or binding, which some people have noted.So far I've put several rolls of filament, including a couple of abrasive ones, through the printer and have had no issues. This is really more of an upgrade rather than needed replacement as my previous one was still functioning well. However, since I do print abrasives often enough, I prefer to have a part that can stand up to the extra wear and tear better. Based on the build quality of the unit I received, that is my expectation.I also like the fact that the handle component is aluminum rather than plastic. Overall I expect this to last longer than the OEM part.That said, some folks have had some issues with quality control. That has not been my experience though, and since this is at the time of writing fulfilled by Amazon, exchanging a bad unit is trivial.

Not a huge problem if the parts are properly cleaned up after; however, mine were not. So the gears are not smooth, they have ridges in them which makes the gears have friction as the teeth interlock. I've already read someone else already ran in to the problem I would expect to happen, and that is the gear binding. Which ultimately can damage your printer.I don't recommend this product, quality control isn't there and at the cost of our devices, this small cost isn't worth it.

These hardened gears will allow you to print harder and more abrasive filaments such as those containing glass or carbon fibers or other particles. Please note that visually they look exactly the same as the original stainless steel ones, so you should take care to tell them apart so you don't confuse one for the other. I marked the original one with a sharpie before removing it from the case it's mounted in.Everything came off easily and went back together in a straightforward manner too. The arm with the secondary gear which presses into the filament with a spring is a different color than the original one, so that part is easy to tell apart. Very nice upgrade, I am just now experimenting with the settings needed to print using carbon fiber filament.

From the handle to the gears, all of the metal parts are machined very well and don't exhibit the rough machine work found on many of the aftermarket parts I have tried in the past. The nickel plating provides a smooth finish that should improve wear resistance and extend the life span of the gears. Fit is perfect in my P1P and function is as good or better than the OEM parts. Just an excellent replacement part with the added benefit of being hardened for use with abrasive filaments. At the time of this review, it is about $5 more than the OEM hardened steel gear upgrade but does have the benefit of a machined aluminum handle rather than the plastic handle of the Bambu Labs assembly.

This extruder assembly fit like OEM and is a good alternative. No issues so far printing with this.
