Excellent for engaging kids!
If you have a kid who is motivated by points, scavenger hunts, etc, this book is great! I had to drag my kids out of the Uffizi gallery because they wanted to see all the art.

Great travel book for kids
We got this book along with the Mission Rome book for our kids for our summer trip to Italy. I usually get them travel journals but thought I'd try something different. The kids took this book with them as we visited sights and would look for the items they were to find to check them off. It has some interesting info about the main sights in Florence and helped them learn about places/things that they were not aware of before. It was a fun book to get the kids interested in the places we visited and helped them not get bored by the museum visits and long lines everywhere.

Fabulous way to keep your kids engaged!
We absolutely loved this book. We used both it and Mission Paris on a recent trip to France and Italy with our three kids, ages 11, 11 and 13. I was worried they may be too old for it but they weren't. Be sure to read in advance so you can do the 'Anytime Missions' at the end to do throughout your visit, and be sure to read the historical details as you go along. There were some 'bumps' in terms of thing being moved since the book was written, but that is part of the Scavenger Hunt experience. Most notably was the Uffizi - the Adoration of the Magi by Fabriano was moved to a special exhibit in the basement when we were there, and some of the pictures of Medici children had been moved to towards the end of the museum. But we had a great time using this book throughout our visit, and highly recommend it.

Excellent Way to Dive a Little Deeper!
We used this and the Mission Rome books on our recent trip to Italy. These books were amazing for the whole family!! My 5 (almost 6) year old daughter was so excited when she found things pictured in the books. She was actually studying the paintings! My husband and I got a lot out of them too. We would have never known/noticed some of the things listed. I highly recommend these books to anyone taking a child on an epic trip. One thing I would suggest to the writers/publisher would be to include a map of the locations. It wasn't a huge deal as we were using Google maps too but it would have been extremely helpful for planning.

Traveled to Florence with 9 and 6 years old boys, this book let’s see almost all parts of the museums with them having so much fun! The kids didn’t complain about anything at all!

Awesome and engaging book for kids!
I bought this and the Mission Rome book for my 8 year old son. I knew that we were going to be hitting some museums in these cities and wanted to try and keep him engaged and interested. This did the trick! Not only was he excited to read about the missions and earn points for them, but he learned in the process! This is not limited to just museums as there were things to find in the city as well. It was fun for the adults too! I was stopped numerous times in the museums by different folks asking me where we got the book.

A lifesaver for our trip to Italy!!
This book kept our 10 year old so engaged during our trip to Italy. We spent hours in museums because she was determined to get all the points. When we had free time in cities, she asked to work on more points, so she could complete the mission. Such a lifesaver, it was really perfect for her and us! Highly recommend!!

Awesome!
This book totally saved us from hours of complaining and placating! Bought this for our 9&8 yo kids for our trip to Florence. Knew our 9yo would love it bc he’s into spies. 8yo likes to do what 9yo is doing so we lucked out. Not only did it keep them entertained but they (and we!) learned a lot from this book! There’s info in here you’d never know otherwise (such as why there’s a white circle on the ground outside the Duomo - no one else paid it any attn but we knew what it was!). Highly, highly recommend this book!! And I’ll be basing any future travel plans around whatever other cities they have books for!

Best family guide ever !
The best! I am a fanatic of culture but find it difficult to get the family on board to visit museums and read/ learn about sites history. This guide made our holiday in Florence a dream! Kids loved the puzzles and hunt exercise, and for me as parent helped me identify the muster for the kids without overwhelming them :-)I really enjoyed it and after that trip bought it for Paris and Amsterdam again! Reallyrecommend it and hope that the collection will expend with more cities over the world!

Great concept
Great concept. Helped to get the most out of our short stay in Florence. Our 8 year old daughter even made it through the entire Uffizi museum without complaining. Some of the challenges were a bit tough given the huge crowds we had to work through. Also in peak season make sure to pre book tickets for some of the must-see sights like the Uffizi and Duomo to avoid disappointment. Will buy the London and Amsterdam Scavenger Hunt books as well.

Amazing
Amazing book. Had a fantastic time wandering around in Florence with my daughter looking for all the items in the book. Really makes trips and sightseeing more exciting for everyone.

an interesting book but...
I'm certain this will keep my kids entertained and excited while exploring Florence. But, for Pete's sake, was it necessary to put shorts on Michelangelo's David????? If you're planning on taking kids to Florence, that level of prudery would require near-constant blindfolding...
