Happy with purchase
Exhaust tube is 69 inches across in diameter. It works really well in our 2bd apartment for a room that's in the sun all afternoon.

Not as good as they say it is
1st, I always check reviews before a purchase. Maybe I got a bad unit, but it didn't work all that great. I live in a 2 room apartment & this thing didn't cool off my bedroom. The only reason I decided on a portable ac is because I'm getting up in age & it's easier than lifting 1 into a window. I contacted customer service-joke. They told me to make sure it was vented out a window & on cool. Sure, cuz I'm a complete idiot & didn't think to do that. Then they replied to tell me they couldn't reply because of 4 days of holiday. Really? The cover over the filter had to be held on with tape or it just fell off. It has a very noticeable hum. It was not quiet at all. The thing just sucked. I went & bought a 5000 btu window unit for $100 & am happy with. Bedrooms nice & cool. So how come an 8000 btu portable couldn't do it???It was junk. Sent back & waiting for a refund. The only thing I liked, I could turn it on with my phone. Not worth the price.

Good value for price, it does well in room up to 150 sq ft, see below to calculate cost to run.
This room AC unit is pretty handy. I was a bit skeptical at the price considering others of its type are almost twice as much but so far it works fine to cool a single bedroom. It is easy to set up with decently clear instructions and has a number of settings including dehumidification, various fan-settings, a timer and a temp setting. I haven’t tried the dehumidification but the cooling works well. It is rated for up to 300 sq ft but I’m not sure it would handle that much just given the size of the unit. The unit itself is pretty small about the size of a large kitchen trash can and it has wheels to make it fairly portable from room to room. The energy guide claims it will only cost $75 to run for 8 hours a day for three months of the year. We will see if that claim is true. The reality is you probably will run it much longer than 3 hours a day, see below for cost. Be aware, electric cooling is expensive (see below for example calculation). It collects water, if you live in a place with low humidity this is finI like the washable filter. You do have to have your window open for this to work (again Thermodynamics at work) and it WILL blow hot air out that window (so if you have plants nearby, think about if they will be impacted).Energy usageTo calculate how much it is going to cost you to run this you need the wattage for this device it is 780 watts (I had to look that up on their product page, as it is not listed here). That is the wattage, divide by 1000 to get kilowatts, so .78kW Now you need to know how much you are charged for electricity. The average in the US is 12 cents a kilowatt hour. We pay 13 where I live. So for the average person this will cost 12 cents x .78 or about 9.4 cents an hour.So if you run this 24 hours it will cost about $2.26 cents if you pay 12 cents a kilowatt hour. For a month it will be about 71 dollars added to your electric bill if you run it all the time. The average central AC uses about 3000 to 5000 watts, so 3 to 5 times the energy, but of course it cools a whole house. The way this can save you money is if you let the rest of your house get hot at night, and just use this in the bedroom where you are sleeping.Cooling powerThe 300 sq feet I assume they are looking at 8 foot ceilings. Even with that for a 150 square foot room an air conditioner of 5000 BTU is recommended, and this is listed at 8,000 BTU (ASHRAE) / 5,000 BTU (SACC). The first is testing under ideal conditions and the second is under more normal actual conditions. If you add more people, they generate more heat as well, so need to take that into consideration. We found it worked well in a 120 square foot room with 8 foot ceilings which matches with the 5000 SACC BTU.

EXCELLANT VALUE - HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I have a 600 sq. Foot office that is split up into two rooms and a foyer. Two of these units are more than sufficient for keeping the ambient temperature very comfortable. The unit features four separate modes high, low, dehumidifier, air circulation. The high setting effectually maintains whatever setting it is that I have it on, anywhere from 60 degrees up to 90 degrees. The low setting is adequate on mildly hot days and is very quiet. The dehumidifier has the capacity to remove up to 22 liters of moisture from the rooms per day.The portability is a nice feature as it is mounted on four casters that facilitate expeditious effortless relocation. The only downside of this feature is that the venting of the unit out out of the building requires that a port be constructed in the walls, or that a window remain vulnerable to intrusion in order to accommodate the window venting kit.One of the most convenient aspects of this unit is the ability to control it via WIFI!! No matter where I am located, I have the ability to access the unit and maintain the settings that I desire and to monitor the unit 's present status as well as the ambient conditions of the room.

Easy to use
For the size, the price is good. Better for smaller spaces. I live somewhere where central a/c units are constantly breaking down for some reason, so I like having this as a backup. Easy to move around which is good if you want to switch rooms/windows.

On the fence
NOTE: Most of the reviews for this product are people that received it for FREE. Ok, so far...this thing is definitely cooling down my apartment. It's been running for a couple of hours because I wanted to see what it could do. Being in Colorado where central AC is an upgrade, I needed this AC for keeping my kitchen cooled down for my Summer time baking business. And it's still cold/rainy here for the most part. It starts to heat up real good in June.I'm fairly certain this is probably a used unit. It's letting off a cigarette smell that I can't seem to detect from the unit and I am a non-smoker. I smell the air and up close, I don't smell it. I'm gonna give it a couple of days to decide if I need to trade it out because I definitely can't cope with it. I'm trying to be optimistic, but it's pretty strong.Setting it up was easy, connecting to wifi was simple and overall- I like the unit.
