The Blind Date (Love Unexpected Book 1)

This has been the best read so far from this Series and Delaney’s books, however that shouldn’t take away the credit from all her other books. She hooks you in from the beginning, the chemistry between the main character is so intense that it feels like you are watching the story play out right infront of your eyes, & the style of writing is impeccable, Too short though. Definitely recommend it.

When they first met it was magic but the spell was broken and reality came knocking. 6 years later they might have a chance again if they can get over the past. Shawna was just the right level of being seduced and cautious. Loved Ryan going after his lady. Fab

It was surprisingly enjoyable.. I tend to be cautious about interracial romance books as a lot tend to be cheesy and loaded with cliches . The storyline was actually realistic which is absent in a lot of romance books and even though they had this connection when they first met there were complications and some mistakes were made. Will be seeing what else is available from this author.

It's a short story no more than a couple of hours read. Ryan meets Shawna and sparks fly but Ryan doesn't mention the girlfriend he already has. Six years pass and a chance to put things right.

This story was a lovely read, all the character were likeable, easy to read. I would have liked more background story from the author regarding the characters so that they have more depth but nevertheless I still enjoyed it.

I love Ms Delaney, I like the way she writes. I have enjoyed every single book that I have read of hers. I am desperately waiting for Wrong Man to come and then I will be in heaven.Definitely recommend this books.

I enjoyed this book it was a bit nicy nice but the story was written well. I was laid up in bed following surgery and this was just the thing. I would read another by the same author.

I enjoyed this story. It was about Shawna and Ryan who meet up on a blind date 6 years after their original meeting and brief affair. Even though Ryan was deceptive in the beginning I was routing for him throughout. The story was cute, quick and the plot moved along fairly quickly. It was well written and although I prefer a story with some angst and drama this one was still fun to read. If it had been any longer maybe I would have gotten bored with it but since it was a shorter novel it worked well.

Beim ersten Zusammentreffen der beiden Protagonisten fliegen die Funken (im positiven Sinn) und die Leidenschaft entbrennt. Allerdings ist ER vergeben - peinlich. Beim zweiten Zusammentreffen nach 6 Jahren bei einem "Blind Date" fliegen wieder die Funken ....Ich fand die Geschichte zwar gut geschrieben, aber unglaubwürdig. Okay, die Geschichte ist nicht sooo lange, aber gleich alles vergeben und vergessen? Aber vielleicht musste alles so schnell gehen, da ja noch ein Spannungselement eingebaut werden muss, und dafür braucht die Autorin auch noch Platz;-)Das Buch war zwar ganz nett zu lesen, aber nochmals lesen werde ich das Ganze sicher nicht.

I know romantic books are supposed to be unrealistically romantic but come on this book really ..after not even 24h the guys like (after having sex ) “ wow she has inner beauty “ i was dead 😂 bye!

2.5 stars. Enjoyable enough but I hate books that jump backwards and forwards in time.Didn’t feel a real connection between these two bar sex. Well written, unfortunately the storyline was very predictable.Easy good coffee time book.

Ich wollte eine leicht zu lesende Geschichte in Englisch, um meine Sprachkenntnisse aufzufrischen. Es handelt sich um eine nette Liebesgeschichte für den Strand oder verregnete Nachmittage.

Love the dynamics of the couple. Loved the way he came back for her. Easy read must find more of her books!

I didn't like this book

I hate reading books but this one is a KILLER!!! I just love it and love the characters. Well done Delaney!!! I am a big fan of your from now on

Through some shenanigans, Ryan sets up a blind date to get to see Shawna again. He's missed her and the happiness he felt when he was with her.Their first date after the 6 year separation is actually one of my favorite scenes because Shawna is understandably surprised to see him and she lets him know. No punches (pun intended) held. Her life since Ryan’s been a bit of a mess in the romance department because she compares the way she feels to the way she felt when she was with Ryan. And so to see him after all those years put her in a little tail spin but after a little bit of Shawna’s ‘get away from me’ they decide to act civil and sit down to a meal at Shawna’s favorite French restaurant. The dinner was uncomfortable for both and I actually appreciated that.The chemistry between Shawna and Ryan is good but I wasn’t really excited about them as a couple. I can’t say that I enjoyed them as individuals because there’s not a lot that we find out about them outside of this relationship. I like to know childhood stories, little quirks, hobbies, work and all the things that make up a character’s personality and I can’t say that I got to know those things about either of these characters. What I got was some quick sex after dinner and a romance that moved quickly with as few words as possible.Even with not so great character development, I’m curious enough to want to read book 2.Happy reading folks! Rating: B-/C+Also posted at www(dot)redhotbooks(dot)com

This was a fast paced kind of sweet romance. Ryan was about 6 feet tall, blue eyes, and I think dark brown hair. I actually had to search in the book to put together a mental picture of him. I honestly could not come up with a mental picture of either of them.The book felt very rushed. Not much to the relationship other then maybe a total of 6 days before they became a serious couple. There was a lot of sex, a lot of steamy scenes, but their connection dwindled away to nothing.I felt more of a connection between them at the beginning when Shawna was still pissed off and Ryan was trying to explain. It felt like they were working toward that second chance. Then suddenly, they were all over each other.I was surprised Shawna was so quick to jump into a relationship with Ryan. Although it has been six years, I would think there were still some major trust issues to be worked through.I would give this 2.5 stars. Not much story to it, but it's a quick, sweet, sexy 2nd chance romance with an HEA.

I was looking for a quick read with many "feels" and I got it.Shawna Ferguson is set up on a blind date by her sister and brother in law and when she meets the guy, it is none other than Ryan Stewart, the man who crushed her heart six years prior.And Shawna is not having it. But, the bad part is that it seems Ryan has become even more good looking and he keeps mentioning that night of unbridled passion they had six years ago...My Reaction:I finished this book in a little less than 24 hours because it was kind of straight to the point. It does dally between the past and present a bit and I know many readers do not like that, including me. However Delaney Diamond makes it painless. The past is just as bittersweet as the present and presents an explosive build up by the end.Like I said before, I was just looking for feels this time and I got it. Ryan was incredibly sexy and so charming, while Shawna could have had more personality, but to me it did not matter all that much.A passionate, short read!*Found this one through Bookbub Deals

*******************SPOILER ALERT*********************This is my second short story by Delaney Diamond and I have to say that I enjoyed this one more. I liked Ryan and Shawna and I kept reading hoping to get to know more about them. I guess that's what was missing for me. There were moments, like when they went dancing, where I thought I would have the opportunity to witness Ryan and Shawna falling in love. Instead, what I learned was how much they liked having sex with each other. It was steamy, at first, but after a while the sex scenes grew redundant. I got tired of them being all over each other and wanted to see Shawna and Ryan connect emotionally instead of being told that they did (if that makes sense). I was extremely disappointed to be told that Ryan proposed. In lieu of some of the same 'ol, same 'ol sex scenes I would have rather been a part to a beautiful, heartfelt proposal. The Blind Date wasn't a bad story. It just wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be.

I love this story. It goes to show you love cannot be denied even if you try. Two people felt the attraction from the first time they met. Two nights together showed that love is theirs to conquer but things didn't go their way as they want it to be. Six years later after their long separation, they found their second chance through a blind date. Their love never died. Ryan is so sweet and sexy, who could not want him?? This is a hot and steamy romance you don't want to miss. My first book of this author and I enjoyed it a lot. 😊😊

Love at first sight, what a wonderful story. Guy see's girl, guy must meet girl, guy not really in a position to start anything new. Girl meets guy, girl really likes guy, girl gets terribly hurt by guy. both characters are quite loveable and i found myself rooting for them both from the beginning.Great chemistry between both characters. I especially liked reading his POV, made me believe that there was much more to him than a sexy body.i definitly recommend this book.

The Blind Date is a story that unfolds between characters Ryan Stewart and Shawna Ferguson. Okay, lets start off with the premise. Title…The Blind Date. Um…Shawna, hasn’t gotten any in years so her sister & brother in law set her up on a date with her EX from six years ago (unbeknownst to her).Um…alright, I can see that. There was this big falling out. Ryan lied…Shawna was hurt…I got it. I get it. But here is the thing…they were young and on a night, you just met someone and you feel it’s right. But it’s some other shit going on at home that this person just can’t get into at the moment BUT he's taken by this new thing thats going on…this is Ryan’s main problem and situation at the time.I will not give away a lot of details, but I will tell you my main issue with this tale. After six years…SIX years. Shawna couldn’t get over the hurt that Ryan caused. Listen, I understand hurt, but really six years?… and definitely if dude has changed and admitted he mucked up….#comeonnow.What more do you want or require? #ijustdidntgetit. Ryan admitted he mucked up…so you will hold a grudge for how long? #stopit.The story itself was well written and kept me turning the pages, I think Delaney Diamond wrote one heck of a story. But, I will admit that Shawna worked my nerves. Because, honestly if you feel that you can’t move on from what someone did to you in the past…then you need to let it all go and you know…move on. Don’t have sex with them and then feel guilty about the stuff…#imjustsaying. So these few issues brought this down to a 3 heel review for me.
