When I accidentally caught my 20 year (which at the time cost about $25) longevity Eddie Bauer Push Button outstanding compact umbrella in my car door and somehow broke its mechanism; I did an all and all out search to either repurchase it again or one that was nearly identical. Having read the reviews on this one, I thought that it pretty much was similar to the one I broke. I ordered it last night, it just arrived today and I tried it out. It is EXCELLENT. Beyond 5 stars in every way. It is about an inch longer than my previous one but it has 8 instead of 6 ribs. I cannot recommend this product enough. I do NOT write Amazon reviews unless I am wholly impressed! FYI!

Beautiful color, works as expected, just wanted to mention one quibble that might be important to older, arthritic, or clumsy users: mine was really hard to lock into closed position. It snapped right up into the open position, but when it came time to close it I struggled to wrench it down into the locked position - umbrella kept flying back open so I couldn’t pull it into the car.

This umbrella did great. I used it during the Nor’Easter st the end of September in 2036 in NYC. It worked really well. It survived mostly during the wind- sometimes it turned inside out/ but other than that it worked great. Durable and fairly light weight. Good for travel.

I love the all-black version of this umbrella. It has a really sleek, simple look while still having the features that make this umbrella stand out from a basic one. The automatic open and close is my favorite feature. You press the button once and it opens immediately, then press it again and the umbrella collapses. You still need to push the top and handle together to fully close it, but the button makes opening and breaking it down so much easier. I also like that it folds down compactly and has a nice, streamlined look when it’s closed. The all-black color makes this version feel a little more classic and grown-up, while the other patterns add more personality. Overall, this is a really convenient umbrella for keeping in the car, carrying around town, or giving to a kid who needs something that’s easier to manage than a traditional umbrella.

First of all the size of the handle is tiny. Like it’s designed to be held by a child. It’s uncomfortable to hold it so small. Next, if you’re allergic to latex keep in mind, this has a rubberized coating. The next problem is that the strap is Again super teeny tiny for child size people only. I’m a middle-aged American woman and I couldn’t get the thing around my wrist. Let alone around my hand to get around my wrist. Next, the pretty pattern is on the outside of the umbrella not the inside where you’d actually see it like in the picture. It is also extremely difficult to close. I’ve had self closing umbrellas. I’m aware you have to recoil the spring. This is worse. A lot worse. Unusable worse. The fabric also seems pretty cheap and flimsy. I’ve had other travel umbrellas, discount umbrellas you name it and this just seems worse. And for extra fun, the umbrella is very short again, assuming childlike proportions. It’s not that compact the canopy is a standard 42 inch size for one person I guess it’s kind of pretty but overall, I’m returning it because it’s nearly unusable unless you’re looking for the world’s shortest stalked umbrella with a child size handle that’s impossible to close.

Se ve robusto, el color es precioso y sirve tanto para hombre como para mujer, el tamaño es perfecto y el botón de abrir y cerrar funciona bien. Viene con una funda para guardarlo. Para plegarlo, una vez presionado el botón intenté hacerlo como en uno manual ,deslizando el mecanismo por la varilla, pero imposible de lo duro que estaba, hay que hacerlo poniendo las manos en el mango y en la punta (los dos extremos) y empujando hacia dentro( juntando las manos ) así si es fácil y es como tiene que ser en los paraguas de apertura y cierre automáticos ( de esto me enteré después buscando en Google ) . Aún no lo usé pero creo que cumple todo lo que dice en la descripción. Estoy muy contenta con la compra.
