Never have i tried these filter jug just never been my thing, but instead of purchasing water bottles, i was like why not give these a try, ordered this and once the product arrived i opened it up to test it out, oh i am pouring water straight out of the tap into this thing if you are wondering, first reading 278 PPM i was like 0_0 so i tried to read after like 3 cycles to see if it changes, got down to 274 PPm still hard water, but surprisingly there is no chlorine taste. i guess ill stick to bottle water.Hope this help
