Ai-22HD 2x2 USB Audio Interface with Sonic M50 Studio Monitoring Headphones & DCM 58S Dynamic Cardioid Microphone

After weeks of research and watching countless videos on what 2in 2 out sound card was worth the buy in the sub 10k category, I came across the Vault Ai22. First of let me tell you that this is one sturdy piece of equipment, it says on the back that it is designed in germany and it sure feels right. Great build and I personally love the side wooden panels, gives it this lovely retro look. Enough on the looks (cannot get my eyes of this beauty) let us talk about what it actually does.. 2 Inputs and 2 outputs... That is it. It is always best that you stick to the basics.. This simple interface is so easy to use.. it literally took me under 5 minutes to unpack, connect my yamaha's and to select the interface from my mac.. Truly plug n play. It comess with a license of Bitwig 8 Track , Which i will use as my secondary practise DAW.. Let us see how simple that gets for me.. But let us stick on point here.. 2 inputs - Quality of preamps and the line in socket is fantastic.. got some superb sounding vocals and guitar parts.. the combo connectors are also of good quality. phantom power as well, as most of the interfaces have nowadays, 2 outputs - This unit is loud enough to power any studio monitor.. It sounds fantastic.. My HS5 sound really good from these.. Although I wish that it had a midi in and out but at this price point, I would not expect nything more.. Let me end this review now- Fantastic Audio interface by Vault. Worth every penny I spent. Inputs are good, outputs are also loud and really nice. I am glad I bought this and am asking my friends to also go for this one.. Highly reccomend for beginner or for any one who only uses 2 in and 2 out with usb power.. perfect travelling partner as well..

I bought Vault Ai22 HD as a spare unit as the repairs of audio devices in India usually take 2-3 weeks minimum. On getting the device and testing it out, I discovered the Direct Monitoring had issues, as in, whether you turn it ON or OFF, in both cases, you will ALWAYS hear the Direct Monitoring of your audio input, which I find to be inconvenient in Home Studio environment, where you often try to record vocals in the same room, while often listening music through monitors at low volume. I thought it was a faulty unit so I replaced it with another one within Exchange Window, but upon inspecting the second one, I found the same issue. The Direct Monitor, ONLY when turned on, SHOULD play the input directly in monitors, and otherwise simply record it bypassing the output, which DID NOT happen even the second time. So I came to the conclusion that DM switch doesn't work as intended. This is a FAULT by DESIGN. Hence, taking one star away from the review of this otherwise incredible device that outperform all other devices in this and even a slightly higher price range.

I already had M Audio 2x2 interface and it was running good until recently i was having problem where it throws less volume in one speaker and very irritating buzzing sound whenever i rotate volume or other knob. Other than buzzing, I had to rotate it various time because it was not setting the volume at desirable level. In one word, I got frustrated and decided to look for another interface then while searching i got this i after i used it, felt blessed to not have any such problem which i had in previous one. It send equal signal to both speaker and knob are running smooth without any buzzing sound. Quality is also good. Design it also different from regular ones.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: one of the output channel does not work, tried with different interfaces, no wires were faulty. but this imterface.

When I recieved the product. It looked decent. There was no documentation about the driver. I had to search on the net for the information on driver. Finally found out that asioforall is the driver to use. The feel of knobs is little cheap, but then this is a very cost effective audio interface, so expected. There is no volume control for headphone, also nothing for daw vs input signal. So very difficult to use. The voice from headphones is not coming clear. Not sure what the problem is. Still need to try the main output since the connector is different than most of the Audio interfaces. Overall, will caution buyers that there will be challanges. If I had a choice would have returned this.

I purchased Vault audio interface last month. Its design and it's work is very excellent. Sound quality and the software Bitwig provided along with this works very nice. I fully satisfied with this. But I face a problem with the software Bitwig. Two inputs of the interface in Bitwig are not working at the same same time. But in Adobe audio both inputs are working.

Easy to use product, just plug and play/use. I use it for vocals and for Guitar recording.... Nice product at this price range. As usual order placement and delivery was very good from Amazon.

Was able to easily connect guitar to laptopz didn't have noticable latency. Had some issues with Bitwig kry but customer support quickly addressed it. Overally it's a great product.
