These are the best available oleander starter plants online that I could find. I ordered first from this vendor on another platform, which only had the red option, and the plants were fantastic. Then I wanted pink, so I had to use a different vendor, and was disappointed. Then I found the pink ones on Amazon and was delighted to be able to buy from this seller again, since the other plants were not great.First photo (bushier green healthy cuttings, if photos load properly) is of a bunch of the oleanders I received from NorCal Plants. Healthy cuttings, shown right after I potted them; they arrived exactly as stated in 2.5 inch potting cubes, with excellent rooting.Second photo (if they load in order) is the pinks from another vendor (FF), whose spindly, leggy seedlings came in 1 inch cubes that were lined with landscape fabric. These were clearly seedlings, while all the NorCal plants are sturdy cuttings that have been well rooted. The seedlings, in stark contrast, are leggy and awful, as you can see in the photo, and most of the roots came off when trying to remove the completely unnecessary fabric choking them off, so some have already died. Two of them were dead on arrival.Cuttings are going to give you replicas of the mother plant. Seedlings are more variable. The other seller doesn’t tell you they use seedlings, but they do. NorCal has always sent me cuttings, so I know these plants will behave the way they’re supposed to, in terms of flowering and color, etc.I have three sets of these starter oleanders from this seller now. There was a mixup with my second order, but they were wonderful and offered to fix it right away, so I had no qualms about placing the third order. The plants are packaged smartly, so that they don’t shift or fall out of the boxes during transport. They all arrived healthy and happy, which was nice, considering they traveled cross country. (I checked locally first and couldn’t find anyone selling affordably around where I live.)The plant quality is excellent—sturdy cuttings with healthy new growth already visible within a short time. The roots were in really good shape. I like to pot them up and let them get bigger before planting in the landscape; I expect them to be ready by spring, if I take care of them over the winter. This is one of the few plants in my deer-ravaged garden that is spared completely, and they look really great in mass plantings. I already have cuttings I made from one of my own plants, but they didn’t look as good as the ones from this seller, and most of mine didn’t root, despite meticulous technique. I am so glad to have these, and will definitely buy more from this seller if I need more!
