The North American Rescue C-A-T Combat Application Tourniquet (GEN 7) - Blue Trainer is the real deal. I use this trainer model for first aid instruction and it has been used over and over and over again and shows no signs of wear or fatigue. Practice, practice, practice - because if you need to apply one to yourself, you could black out in as little as 45 seconds, and you need to be able to apply a tourniquet quickly and correctly.This practice aid is basically identical to the real thing - so if you can apply this correctly in about 20-30 seconds (you can), you'll be able to save yourself or someone else from bleeding out.

I train every day during downtime at work with blue tourniquets in all varieties I carry. Never train with the tourniquet you intend to use during an emergency. Have a set of training only. C-A-T are the common go to for easy use. If you preload it right, you can apply it one handed. Get some, get training. Don't buy the fake, cheap, replicas. Get real, approved, and quality TQs. Saving a buck on a life saving tool is nonsense. Also, rule of 3. Two is one, and one is none, so have 3. Basically if it can fail, it will fail. So have more than one. You also might have to apply a second in order to stop the bleeding. You never remove, loosen, or adjust a TQ once its on, you instead apply a second one. I keep a loaded one on my cars visor, in the door pocket, and console. Why? if I am in a major accident and need to self aid, I might not be able to reach one or the other.

I love that this is offered for training in a different color, but it's expensive for a training model. Shouldn't be nearly as expensive as it is. Heck the normal tourniquet doesn't cost as much as the trainer.Anyway, it's made from the same material as the std black and red models, and has been a great help in training the friends and family in proper tourniquet use.

This is a training TQ and simply a must for anyone who will be using a TQ. You do not train with a TQ you will use in the future as it can fail once used properly.This is a high quality training device that will not be confused with an actual use TQ.

Every firearm operator--whether civilian, military or law enforcement--should train with this CAT Tourniquet Blue Trainer themselves and have their family members and shooting partners train with this tool on each other, too. One caution though: although it is built for training only, do not tighten the rod much during practice as this will help prolong the life of this training device. But make sure the trainees go through the motion of fully tightening the rod for muscle memory. If you conceal carry, obtain a few real CAT Tourniquets and scatter their placement, such as one in your vehicle, one in your Go-Bag, and one in your residence.
