Shogi Japanese Chess Game Set - Wooden Board with Drawers and Game Pieces

Board and pieces are a bit small but good overall quality.

Bought this for use as my main everyday Shogi set. Beautiful and well-made. A little expensive at full price, but with the Black Friday discount, I am very happy with this product.

We had an issue with a missing piece (a knight), and it took around two weeks for the replacement to arrive. To my surprise, instead of sending just the missing piece, they sent us an entirely new board with a full set of pieces. I genuinely expected only a single replacement piece, so this was a very generous and appreciated gesture. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is due to the two-week wait and a few minor design issues. That said, the quality overall is good. We also ordered their chess pieces separately and were very happy with them, and even their travel version is good quality. Photos below show the new board. Only the last photo is from my first order. Overall, I’m glad with how the issue was handled and appreciate their customer service.

Absolutely beautiful set. Bought as a gift so wanted it to look nice and quality, and this is exactly what it provided ❣️

This shoji game set came very well packaged with protective foam, and the craftsmanship of the wooden board, drawer and playing pieces is of a really high quality The wood is heavy, the drawer works well and doesn’t get stuck or feel too stiff, and I really like that the pieces are made from maple wood. The script font is printed nicely, a couple of them had a little bit of blurriness to the ink but nothing that prevents them being read easily. Also, the base of the board is felted so doesn’t slide on the floor or table The English instructions are well written and easy to follow, the diagrams are especially useful to learning the rules of the game. The booklet can fit inside the drawer with the game pieces which is great because I’m still learning and wouldn’t want to miss place it! Overall, excellent quality with detailed instructions. However the price is really expensive for a board game, but I could see this making a really lovely gift for someone and the fact it’s made from wood means it will last a really long time!

This has taken me a while to figure out how to play, but it's a wonderful item. Definitely great quality, which is reflected in the price. I think the player pieces could do with being the same quality as the board, as they are a bit thin, but other all a great game for those that love board games such as chess.

This is a really lovely imported wooden game board with nice quality playing pieces. The board came ready well packaged with good thick foam padding in the box ensuring it wasn't damaged. The instructions included are good enough to get an overview of how to play the game, but you would probably benefit from playing with someone who has played before or watch a playthrough video online. It makes a nice centerpiece on a coffee table as an ornament even if you don't want to play the game.
