All three of my cats LOVE it!
The media could not be loaded. All three of my cats love this toy. The balls are nice and heavy and keep rolling around the track with the slightest tap. My cats have never played with any toy as much as they've been playing with this. As soon as I put it on the floor they were all over it.

My cat wore himself out playing with this toy!
While our daughter is serving overseas in the military, we had to rescue her cat from her "friends" who had promised to take care of him in her absence. He'd been feed poor quality food that had caused him to become obese, he'd been ignored and left outside to be beaten up by a neighbor's cat, and was in bad shape all around. In the time I've had him, I've put him on a healthy diet and he's well on his way to a healthy weight, and I've tried to get him to exercise more. The only exercise he has enjoyed is playing fetch with metal bottle tops from soda or beer bottles. We have a large house with tile floors, so if you throw the bottle tops, they bounce everywhere and make a skittering sound on the tile. For him, it's like chasing mice. He'll bring them back and demand that you throw them again. And again. And again ... He also likes swatting them around and pouncing on them.Playing fetch has been good exercise for him (and for me when he expects ME to retrieve the bottle cap to him), but it isn't enough. I wanted something more that provide new stimulation and keep him entertained when I'm too busy to throw bottle caps.I've been reading reviews of interactive cat toys, and I thought the spinning of the balls on this toy might capture his interest, since he has enjoyed swatting bottle caps around on the floor. I liked that it has the option of adding catnip in the center well to trigger cats' interest. I didn't know how he'd react to the catnip, though. Once before, I'd picked up a cheap little catnip mouse at the grocery store, and he just gave it a disgusted look and walked away. This sounded like it might have a higher grade of catnip, so I was hopeful that it might get him interested enough to play with it.Boy, did that do the trick. When I first put the toy on the ground, he didn't show any interest. I swatted the ball around to make it spin, and he followed it with his eyes, but didn't start playing with it himself. This came with a small bag (approximately an ounce) of catnip. I opened the bag and sprinkled about a half teaspoon of catnip into the center well. I let him sniff my fingers afterwards to see if he was interested in the catnip and he really came to life. He jumped up and followed my hand, and I led him to the toy. When he smelled the catnip in the well, he pushed his nose down into the well and tried to lick out the catnip. I pushed it down into the edges of the well so that he could smell it but not eat it, and again swatted the ball around in the toy. He pounced on the ball and chased it for at least 15 minutes. He'd swat it and make it spin around in circles, and swat it again when it passed. After a few passes, he'd chase it around the toy and pounce on it again. He rolled back and forth on the floor, trying to find a way to catch the balls, which would only make them move around faster. He'd occasionally sniff the catnip in the well again, then go back to chasing the balls. After playing for quite some time, he collapsed in a heap on the floor next to his toy. He ended up taking a long nap there on the floor.I think the addition of this and some other interactive toys I've also purchased are giving him the mental and physical stimulation he needs to be happy and healthy.

Small defect, but certainly worth the money
I have a small defect with the toy, which appears to have happened almost immediately after getting it. The middle part, which you remove in order to add the provided catnip, has three small clips that you insert into small holes so that it stays attached. When I attached mine, one of my cats was able to remove that middle part and get to the catnip directly. Also, the inner ball is kept in the toy by the middle part, so when he removed the middle part, he was also able to pull the ball out and "soccer" it around the apartment.Turns out, after inspecting it, that one of the clips has actually broken off, and now that part won't stay on. I can probably use something like super glue or something to permanently attach it, but I can't keep it on like it was intended to. This means that the toy is less effective because I have only two choices. Leave the middle part alone, and have the cat remove it at will and pull the ball out, or permanently attach it and be unable to really put the catnip in. I guess I can put it in through the holes though. The cats do play with the toy, sporatically. It happens more right after adding fresh catnip, but they sometimes just pass by and decide to attack it with extreme focus. It's pretty much treated like most of their toys, attack it at random times with no notice whatsoever.I do want to note, when I realized that the toy was defective, Amazon was very focused on resolving the issue. They were going to require the toy back, but then changed their minds and told me to just keep it and refunded my money. I was interested in the option of exchanging it, but sadly, I didn't realize the toy was broken within their exchange window. I will have to decide if I can order the toy again, sometime when I'm buying other items that will bring it within the $35 shipping requirement. I do believe that I will buy the toy again, since I do see the cats enjoying it.I do want to also note, the toy is otherwise in great condition. If not for the one small clip that broke, the toy would be in pretty much prestine condition after four months of playing with it. It's been moved all over the apartment, and has not damaged anything, or been damaged, other than being a little dusty at times from the catnip. I have also thoroughly enjoyed the antics my cats go through when they rediscover the toy, or even the loose ball that one cat MUST pull out almost immediately after removing the middle part.

Cats love this, but doesn't stay in place
Over the years my cats have had many toys, and this remains a favorite. Will last for years and years. I had to get a new one only because I put it on the couch when cleaning, the cats followed it to play with it and ended up dropping it on the floor one too many times - the top part fell off and wouldn't latch back on.My only issue is that it won't stay in one place. It comes with rubber to insert and make it stay in place, but once my cats started playing the rubber fell right off. I didn't try again because the rubber is so small and I was afraid the cats would try to eat it. The cats are free to move it and I don't mind much, but they sometimes kick it around so much it 'disappears' under the sofa and they can't reach it and get upset. I also have a small space so would be nice if it stayed put without me having to to kick it back into a 'designated' place. But you know how it is with cats - it's their fav and I have to live with it :)

Fun, Entertaining, Well Made, Best!
Oh my gosh, I did not even have the "thing" unpacked and our 13-year old part-Siamese wanted the catnip!~ They just loved this toy, each of my kitties, and it really gave them a new stimulation. Indoor cats. They seemed bored, even though love the birds out the window; but all cats need something to do:) I highly recommend this ring-toy. They just love the balls, catnip or not. I love watching them with the paw-eye co-ordination. Fabulous interactive toy for kitties! Our male orange tabby will be 3 soon, and he just loves this! THANK you!

It's very well made indeed!
Oddly, out of all five of my cats, only one will play with this and not frequently. Yet she LOVES the basic, one track version. I'm not sure what the problem is because the principle is the same. It should be a delightful toy, and I really like its sturdy construction. I'll try filling the catnip reservoir with some fresh 'nip - maybe that'll do the trick! It should be even more popular than the single track version - double the fun, right?

Meh
I'm a bit peeved that one of the 3 little plastic clips that hold the green piece in the center (that covers the cat nip area) has already broken - and my cats don't use it. I also bought the cardboard inserts that I'm going to try inserting after I take out the blue internal section - and I'll try putting catnip on the cardboard scratch piece to see if that gets the cats using it.
