Excellent and well engineered
The stand is well built and engineered. The finish of the metal is very good and looks like a very expensive and sculptured piece of equipment. The black plastic case fits the iPad snugly so there is no fear of it popping or falling out. The rear attachment works well too allowing 360 degrees of rotation of the iPad itself along with the varying degrees of adjustment with regards to height. One thing to take note though is that the rear silver ring that connects to the base protrudes quite prominently from the back of the case, this makes placing it down 'rear first' problematic when not on the base station. I was also under the impression that the back is attached via magnet only when in reality it has 2 quick release push buttons that have to be depressed to remove it. This is great for stability and security when on the base, but means its a 2 handed process to remove the iPad, I was kind of hoping to be able to grab it off one handed on the go inbetween classes etc...But overall it is a great stand for doing work with a keyboard, watching movies, or for demonstration purposes.

Does the job, but build quality is not Apple standard.
First off, the aluminum is not pressed or extruded or even milled, but cast. It is lighter than expected and does not have that Mac Quality that you know and love if you have ever bought any Apple products. The ring on the back of the iPad cover that goes through the cover and touches the back of your iPad is metal. Yes it is covered by a big piece of black plastic tape, but I am not happy with a sharp piece of metal touching the back of my iPad with just a thin piece of plastic tape covering the surface, so I ramped it up with my own fix. Secondly the ring that holds the ipad to the stand is not a "great fit" there is a gap all the way around making it real easy to turn and move. Which is great, but not that loose. I feel it could have been tightened up.All and all I was ok with the purchase but it should be more around the $39 mark, not $79. I would have paid $79 for Apple quality not the cast parts that comes with the Versa Stand. It does the job and is nice to travel with. Great design, just needs perfected.

Outstanding!
VERSAtile, transportable, and all around outSTANDing.Formally fumbling with my iPad at meetings, this handy stand allows for stable presentations. The rotating arm and adjustable height is a dream. It allows me to view my iPad at optimal angles, whether presenting in a meeting, following recipes in the kitchen, or surfing the net while watching TV.I rarely use my iPad's wireless keyboard, because the angle was so uncomfortable. Problem solved with the Versa stand! I can prop up my iPad to a comfortable angle and keystroke away. The hard case snaps on easily and fits seamlessly, so I've kept it on permanently. The case attaches easily to the stand snapping in easily to the magnet. It comes with a snazzy black magnetic cover which automatically sleeps and wakes my iPad.It's so handy --- a very clever product with multiple uses. My only problem is that my colleague borrowed my Versa stand yesterday and hasn't returned it....I may have to purchase another!

Impressive! Well made and versatile stand/riser
I've had this stand for 8 days and absolutely love it. I thoroughly researched stands/risers that could lift my iPad 3 toward eye-level, and this one is by far the best for quality, portability, and ergonomics--it can raise the iPad (while horizontal) 5 inches above the table. Multiple hinges offer multiple angles for viewing and are easily adjustable. The stand is very sturdy but light enough to carry the iPad from room to room (it follows me wherever I go, basically). The smart cover is a great bonus, although I usually leave it off. The iPad disconnects from the stand with just a pinch of the quick-release in the back. As for being a bit pricey, my previous stand was $25 and mainly made of plastic--and only lasted 7 months (no surprise there). So $79 for the Versa Stand was fine with me!

Stand
Really good stand. You have to attach a case to the ipad, but this actually saved my ipad from a fall.Dont expect the included smart cover to be any close to Apple's, it can be used if you dont have the real one.Best stand ever in terms of usability. The materisl used is not the best, a bit over priced

stand
i paid more for this then the other one i had, true this is more versatile, but its hinges are weak pressing on the pad causes it to move positions until it rests against something i place behind the pad. defeats the purpose really, but i should have tested this before i donated the other to a needy friend. the other was half this price and i see this one dropping in price closer to the other of about 35 or so.. i wonder why, well actually i dont, it appears they know the problem as well.

5 Star Design with 3 Star Weight
Great design and functionality! ... just a little awkwardly heavy for business travel and shared presentations.

Perfect for Facetime and keyboard
If you facetime a lot, you know how hard it is to hold ipad just right. Using this stand, set it on the mantle and aim it down to you and it works great. Put a keyboard in front of it and it is perfect height.
