I bought this 12000 btu air conditioner for the heat wave we are experiencing and for my wife’s hot flushes, it’s brilliant at cooling our small 3 bed home first floor where it gets incredibly hot during the summer, this air conditioner easily cools all 3 bedrooms and the landing and when left on for a few hours at 22 degrees, it feels like we live in the Artic, the product is noisy but you can reduce this by placing it on a anti vibration mat, the fan only mode is brilliant, it pumps out lots of air even on the low setting, I cannot comment on the dehumidifier function has I haven’t used it yet, the remote control is easy to use, I’ve bought a cheaper air conditioner before and it didn’t work that well, this one does with ease.

So the recent heat convinced me to finally pull the trigger on getting a portable ac. If I lived in a house and not a flat I think I’d have just drove myself mad installing a proper wall one with an external compressor but this is the best I can do in my flat. I did my research around these before buying and they’re a bit odd really cause none of them have super great reviews, always very mixed. The issue that is most common with these (that I’m not sure how could be avoided because there are so many loud parts to an ac and you’ve got it all in your room) is noise. This is loud, there’s no two ways about it. For me I can sleep fine with it and actually quite like the white noise but I could sleep through a bomb going off. Most people will struggle with it, it’s a dull droning with occasional assorted louder sounds. When you have the temp control on and it switches the ac part on and off it’s sometimes fairly quiet, sometimes sounds like a car door closing. Personally none of this bothers me and seems ubiquitous to these units, something to be aware of though. As for the cooling it’s not as good as I hoped, getting down to 16 degrees is a hope and a dream I feel but it’s still quite good. Went from 28 to 21 degrees in a couple of hours, then 20 steadily. Haven’t tried to go lower than that cause it feels colder than that with the circulating cold air. From how the temp drop slows though I’m sceptical of getting to 16 if it was running all day. Temp drops fairly steady, but once the ac part turns on (warms up for a min) the air is ice cold and even if the ambient temp hasn’t dropped loads yet that circulating cold air makes it feel much colder than it is. This is using it in a medium sized bedroom with the door closed. Included window seal for hinged windows is ugly but they have a YouTube vid for putting it on that’s helpful. Not hard to do and seals decently. I found a site online to get a Perspex window sheet with a cutout so might do that down the road. Overall I’m pretty happy with it. It’s loud, expensive and it doesn’t cool quite as well as I’d hoped, certainly not as well as a proper wall mounted system but it’s still quite good. It made the suffocating heat in my flat (atleast my bedroom where I have it) a comfortable cool, walking out of my room and back in with it on you can feel the huge difference even when the thermometer says it’s only lowered a few degrees. Definitely need to know what you’re getting into if you buy it but I like it. Haven’t used the app but the remote works well.

12,000Btu Excellent for cooling our 5m x4m room. 30* to 22* in 28 minutes! Yes it is noisy, one could not sleep with it on, but in the living room it is superb. I only wish I had purchased it sooner. Keeps me cool, stops me from leaking so i stay dry. Best of all it is reasonable to run. The functions are all adjustable from the remote or phone app. Excellent purchase.

I have to say for the month that it worked, my 12000 BTU SMART PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER MODEL PB-AC-10-UK was as expected. It cooled my bedroom very well. It was quite noisy but I was expecting that having read the reviews. But nearly 5 weeks after purchasing it, it suddenly stopped working. No power was getting to the unit. Nothing on the display was lighting up. I did check it in a few different sockets, changed the fuse and double checked my consurmer unit in case anything had tripped. But still no sign of any power in the unit. The advice from the product help section in my order on Amazon was to contact ProBreeze for technical assistance. But their website wouldn’t let me submit a question unless I had placed the order through their website. So after the usual challenge of navigating Amazon’s Customer Services, they were excellent. Unfortunately there’s no units in stock so they couldn’t send a replacement. But they arranged a refund and collection of the unit straight away. So I will have to order a different product but at least I wasn’t left in limbo for ages thankfully.

We haven't had a chance to use it properly yet as summer seems to be coming late this year. But from the demonstration I did, everything is good. We have the 12000 model and cooled our home down in minutes. I'm looking forward to testing when the hot weather comes. My wife is happy with the dehumidifier part of this product. We did have to buy another hose as we needed a longer extension. If possible try to buy the same hose as supplied as I bought a plastic one at first with metal wire inside and it split as I tried to connect via a coupler. So I bought another of the same one supplied and is perfect. At the moment we like what we see and looking forward to using.

Extremely loud, short water evac tube, short evac, bad window system. If you're thinking you'll be able to sit in the same room as this when it is running then forget about it lol, IT IS EXTREMELY LOUD! On really hot days, it will struggle to keep the temps down, it will cool your room a bit but don't expect it to do too much. The tube from which the water is drained from the unit is so small I don't even understand the logic behind it? At least two meters would've been good. Evac tube is also pretty short. The window system is so bad... everything is bad overall, considering how much I paid for it.

Finding the increasing number of UK days a year of debilitating heat hard to cope with as I get older, thought it was time to get a portable air conditioner. Bought this one as I already have a couple of ProBreeze dehumidifiers which have given excellent service. This unit is of the same build quality with a handy remote control. Recent freaky April weather let me test it and it works just fine. One star knocked off due to the short length of the exhaust hose. I had to buy an extension to make the unit useable i.e. place it where I wanted and exhaust through a top opening window. Note that the window kit supplied seems to me more suited to European than UK windows. The kit was of no use to me. The unit is quite noisy (they all are) and is on the limit of portable due to the weight. I can wheel it round my bungalow fairly easily but I think it would be a struggle to cope with stairs. Delivery driver kindly lifted it into my hall. I wondered how to get it out of the box but if you cut off the plastic straps you will find that the box lifts off the machine and you only have to lift the unit off the bottom polystyrene plinth. It's cool man!
