Not sure what the other reviewer's problem is. The DipLCM qualification exceeds grade 8 and whilst it is not equivalent to an ATCL, nor is it intended to be. The book is clearly laid out and accompanying CD of good quality. The examination itself is of course entirely what you make it - the technical exercises are not overly challenging for a player of the standard one needs to be for this, but prepared lead and rhythm pieces are whatever you decide to make them. The improvised rhythm and lead the same, with added dimension of having to possess the chops to pull something out of your trick bag at zero notice.This book absolutely does not teach you to play guitar to a 'beyond grade 8' standard, but nor does it say it will. This is a really pathetic example for a diploma equivalent qualification.I could not believe the simplicity required for such a level of qualification.Just spend your money on a great teacher & build up your reputation, it's better than these books.

As the description says, the book comes with some tracks and music scores of songs that can be performes during examination, as well as a deeper explanation of what you are should study in order to prepare for the exam.
