Absolutely Amazing Dual In Line Memory Module.
The media could not be loaded. Â ALKETRON - Quantum-Cache 8GB-1866MHz DDR3,I'm using this since week and seems performance of my machine is noticeably increased. Before I'm using at-most reliable single 4GB-Transcend DDR3 1333MHz-CL9 since 2011 and still it's working like charm. But I guess there's day that every senior player needs a break and one night my motherboard said in my dream to utilize dual channels at least once in a life. So I started searching for good RAM, and nowadays DDR3 is really old school DIMM.So I don't want to spend such serious amount on my old machine as I'm not using this primarily. I almost made decision for Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 Memory Kit but again my thought got changed for why not 2x8 as my motherboard supports up-to 2400MHz with 2xDDR3 DIMM (max.32GB). And for corsair I flew couple of butterflies from my wallet.Moving further I found this option in this price with very less reviews, so bit skeptical about going with this brand but without taking chance I'm not able to make firm decision on that so finally I ordered this as Amazon gave 7 days replacement in case of any failure in promise.I got this on time and installed in machine, I wonder how easily I breaks the deal, Everything just perfect and going well. I upgraded this slower system for no reason but just filling motherboard's two slots. Otherwisesingle channelized 4GB RAM is more than enough for this outdated machine for me.--== PERFORMANCE ==--I'm a gaming maniac person but not using this entry level machine for AAA titles but it's playable some of the games with lower settings to stretch capabilities till the balls coming out of cabinet, and this RAM configuration helps to load everything up to the mark. For gaming, you clearly understand that there is no difference in regular RAM and this fancy looking RAM but the different SPD and latency that we'll get in higher prices. If you running RAM in single channel which really affects on performance loss up-to 40%. Always go with good pair of stick if your motherboard supports dual channel with appropriate band frequencies. (no matter 2x2, 2x4, 2x8)Increasing RAM sizes is not mean to jet fuel for your system. so don't expect graphical improvement or extra FPS while gaming with old school processors after installing any high-end RAM into your machine.RAM performance takes place when you executes large programs and multitasking to commits workflow smoothly.--== PROS ==--1) It's good to see Make In India.2) It comes with heat-sink to cool stick for consistent output.3) Comes with 3 year limited warranty period.--== CONS ==--1) A RAM with a CAS takes 11.0 RAM clock cycles to complete the task. (lower the latency better the performance) and it advertised as CL-10 which is false but it is OK with overclocked 1866MHz.--== DO'S ==--1) Must check your motherboard model and refer manual before installing new hardware to avoid compatibility conflicts.2 When installing RAM check the pin architecture and the position while inserting and make sure it pressed by thumbs until click sound. (Do not press harder.)--== DON'T ==--1) Do not use hybrid RAM configuration. (it affects badly on performance.)2) Avoid different RAM brands as every manufacturer clocks it differently even it has similar MHz.3) Do not touch over the PINS, as it delicate part and might possible to left hand prints on that.4) While installing RAM make sure that it just in place, one of common problem of people which is not getting recognized by system because of improper fits.5) Always check the frequencies that your motherboard supports, if it is higher than that it will automatically lower it down so you won't able to get it's optimum 1866 MHz.6) Don't configure it with any other DIMM which clocked below than this, it may not detected for system or may causes to failure the board or being under-performed based on board to board.--== VERDICT ==--If you going with cheap quality DIMM always consider the risk of receiving fake module. And for the sake of current time, spending too much money on DDR3 type is also never being wise decision as well.*So winding things up you can absolutely include ALKETRON into your cart.
