Horrible quality on pieces and instruction - Don't buy
The design is pretty. But the quality of the parts are so horrible. A lot of them can't click tight enough to support the whole assembly process. Especially when you are reaching to the point that clicking the head to the body, and clicking the tail to the body. You will feel it's like a mountain of sand, when you put just a little bit strength trying to click them together, the whole fish fell apart. Then when you finally assembled the fish, several parts still so fragile and kept falling. Clicking to the bottom wave can crash the whole build completely. Also the instruction is not good as well. It jumped the steps, especially on the last several pages, seems the manufacturer lost their patient first. The whole playing experience is so horrible. Playing toy is supposed to make people relax and happy, but unfortunately this one is completely opposite. It will make you grumpy (I screamed several times during the assemble process) and frustrating. Don't spend money to torture yourself. Will not purchase any product from this brand again. Will stay with official Lego.

I enjoyed this! ☆☆☆☆☆
This was a fun build! The reviews I read were harsh & recommended you have glue & extra patience handy, but I found neither necessary! It's beautiful & larger than I expected. I would recommend for age over 12.

Decent brick building set
***The googly eyes are stickers***I've seen a lot of reviewers say they needed glue, but the eyes are stickers, just a bit hard peel the backs off. This was a fun build to do. The quality is good and the cost is very fair for the style and size of the build. I like the design of this set. The instructions are decent but the colors are really close in the instructions, so I had to take a few pieces apart to build it correctly. Some of the connections are a little weak and the order could be better. Sometimes you have to push a brick into a weak connection, and it would cause bricks to go flying off. Something that is frustrating is that there are too many bags with the same number. The bags are only labeled 1 and 2. 1 for the base and 2 for the fish. There should be at least numbers up to 3 or 4 to make it easier to manage and organize the build. It's too many pieces all at once. Overall, this is a great set to get for the price and I recommend it.

Absurdly fragile, finnicky build w/ instructions featuring two different but close shades of blue
Anytime I pick up one of these custom-designed off-brand build sets I never know what I'm going to get in terms of piece connectivity quality, instruction quality, and stability. In this case, all three were pretty questionable.Right off the bat, I knew trouble was in store since the coloration of the instructions was REALLY bad. Look, I get that this set features multiple similar pieces in two different shades of blue but when that happens it's all the more important for the set designer to make an effort to use two very different shades of blue in the instructions. In this case they did not. So if you have trouble differentiating color shades, this will be challenge number 1. Blue hues aren't as much a challenge for my eyes, but the pink and red and white weren't much fun to have your eyes adjust to either.Next up was the poor piece printing. In many instances the pieces don't connect together particularly snugly and in others it feels like they weren't the correct size at all. That's frustrating in it's own right, but when it translates to a build where the two sections (the fish and the water-base it perches upon) might end up loosely connected and send the fish toppling to the floor? Well that's every Lego fan's nightmare. Not just because it means they have to be super careful with delicate parts as they're building, but also once they're done and are looking for a place to display the finished piece. If even a slight bump of the model can send the fish tumbling, then you have to put it somewhere super out of reach meaning few people will see it and appreciate it for how cool the design is.Full disclosure: I opted to cheat a little and secure the looser connecting pieces with super glue to avoid that eventuality because we have rowdy dogs and if I hadn't this thing would have toppled and died within a week of completing it. Don't shy away from this solution. It's poorly designed and your effort shouldn't have to go to waste due to improper piece sizing and a poor construction that places the fish's security at risk. Also, as others have mentioned, the eyes don't have an adhesive backing, so it turns out I would have ended up using super glue/hot glue for this build anyways.Once I'd applied the glue cheat, this thing was considerably more stable and some of the more obnoxiously, poorly connected waves and fish features were now much more secure.***Overall Value***As frustrating as all of this set's shortcomings were, I can't deny that the finished product is just so COOL. It's easily one of my favorite little builds and at just ~675 pieces it's not a long build, especially if you go in knowing you're going to want to superglue/hot glue the two main halves together. If you know that going in and are ready for it, a lot of the frustration goes away because you end up using that same method to secure some of the other features that are clearly at risk of falling off. $26 (at the time of review) is a little on the pricey side for an off-brand set, but the visual aesthetic on this one is just so cool that ultimately I'm happy with it since it displays so nicely.

Fun building kit
I had a lot of fun putting this kit together. The instructions are very easy to follow and are very detailed. Once built it is very stable and doesn't feel fragile so you don't have to worry about it breaking while moving it.

a wonderful model but kind of a frustrating assembly process
This thing was kinda like an emotional journey for me. When I saw it I was like "whoaa too cool I have to have this". When I was building it was like "jeeez can it just be over" and then when it was done I was like "haa too cool, totally worth it".Ok so what do I mean by that? Obviously this design heavily relies on SNOT. So I knew it was going to be a fragile struggle going into it. And of course it was, there were many many incidents of dislodging things while trying to attach other things. I buy tons of alt-brick kits and so I've just come to the conclusion that sometimes you need to bust out the super glue - which I did here a couple of times. But then in the end, like I said, totally worth it. The model represents the koi form well with it's flowing fins, and the scene is a bright and fun way to disguise the necessary mounting that such a mode would need.Presentation is a beautiful retail style carton. Instructions are great, well spaced, good scale, print/color quality spot on. Pieces are standard size which means they're compatible with L brand just like the listing says.I'd recommend this for anyone experienced with alt-brick quirks because with this kit you'll get a heathy dose of them. Young kids or people who need Lego-esque perfection, ehhhh this one is probably not for you.
