Westalee Design/Sew Steady Ruler Foot Starter Package Low Shank

works perfectly
Do not like the HIGH price, but is absolutely necessary for ruler quilting for we who cannot draw a straight line let alone a circle. I use a lot in quilting, Takes practice but has improved my quilting, you get 4 rulers which I have found useful, If I could find a similar foot cheaper, i would, but that are excellent quality & will last a long time with daily use, can't imagine them ever breaking

Great ruler foot.
The foot works great with my low shank domestic machine. I bought this ruler root with ruler because I was waiting that a thicker ruler wouldn't go completely around. This does with no problem. It also had a little guide with measurements on it that is very handy when quilting spaces or just wanting to check yourself.

Brother CS6000i hated this foot
I tried using this with my Brother CS 6000i, and my machine hated it. Regardless of the tension I used, the thread snapped or bunched. It doesn't hop like the free motion foot that comes with the machine, so you have to set the foot high enough to get over any seams. That means that it doesn't hold the fabric down at all, so the only thing supporting the quilt is the needle. The ruler foot is not very tall, too, so it's easy for the ruler to slip over the foot. I broke a needle this way.Wish I had tried it before the return window closed, because it was awful.

Foot ok ruler small straight edge
Hugh disappointment with the riverI was told to buy this foot but I decided to buy the kit with the starter ruler. The description was hugely disappointing as it had no pic or a good description if the ruler. Future buyer beware just by the foot and buy rulers from a vendor who gives a picture or good description. This is basically a small straight rule with one large gently shaped curve. The instructions are scarce and the illustration are designs you could do with walking foot and tape

I have a Babylock Lyric and it fit nicely on my low shank
I have a Babylock Lyric and it fit nicely on my low shank. You can adjust the height the foot sits so you can use with thicker quilt sandwiches. The product arrived ahead of their ship time. I'm very happy with the product.

Foot great - ruler not so much
I am very disappointed that a 1/8" template would be packaged with a ruler foot. I like Westalie products, so ordered this one and paid a lot more because it included the template. The usual template to be used with a ruler foot is 1/4" so that it doesn't slip under the foot. This template can only be used for marking, not for guiding when sewing.

Did not fit Singer Featherweight 221
This was a very good product, looked well made. On recommendation, I purchased this for my 221, but by the time I covered my feed dogs there was not enough room under the foot for free motion of the quilt. I tried using the "official" feed dog cover and using tape and smooth flow products, but was unsuccessful getting the 221 to properly free motion using this foot- must stick with the original darning foot. The FW222 does have lowering feed dogs but the 221 does not. There were no issues with the return, and although this did not work for me I was happy with the product's quality and the company.

You could actually use this alone for free motion quilting ...
You could actually use this alone for free motion quilting but you MUST buy this foot if you are using with the SEW Steady Templates .

Over priced
I was disappointed. The ruler foot is too thin and it was over priced.
