I previously had a SONY but after 2 years it broke. This is smaller and does not need batteries.It works recording phone calls and can pick up voices in a room.It is very clear .What I don't like about it is that the digital counter goes off after a few seconds and you have to manually click it back on so you cannot monitor the recording time ticking away at a glance.However it is much slimmer and smaller than the Sony and is more discrete .A good buy as long as it lasts and nowadays these devices do not last in my experience.

I bought this for business use to record ideas for educational material. It is so simple to use with just one click to record. The added pleasing bonus is that each recording is numbered so I can find my thoughts with ease. I accidentally pressed record and it recorded our family discussion which we had before and during dinner- that’s when I realised it was recording as my daughter was enquiring about my new gadget and as I picked it up, I pressed a button and it showed it was recording. I played back the recording and it was really clear. This is a great extended tool for when I am assessing children, as then I can go back over the recording instead of making frantic notes!So worth the money paid and I would not hesitate to recommend.It also came fully charged too out of the box.I’m quite impressed by this discreet gadget.

if you are serious about your work avoid this product at all costs. used it twice screen froze and will not switch off. video product reviews online are misleading. troble shooting guide and support is hopeless. using this product has set my work back about a month

This product is quick to get to work.Switch it on and hit record.It’s smaller than I thought, which is great as it sits in my tunic and doesn’t get in my way.The sound quality in playback is clear.I’ve not tried downloading the files but I don’t see that being an issue

I like it all and it is working as expected. Menu is straightforward but the instructions manual is absolutely terrible. Some menu items are just not listed. Like what does "monitor on/off" do? No mention of this in the manual and either on or off does nothing. There is a further setting called "repeat mode" which the manual mentions is supposed to do something but every time I try to access this menu it just exits so is basically a useless menu item.Then finally the menu says that you can play back recordings individually or one after the other. Well, yes you can but every time you exit the recordings it will automatically revert back to playing all files one after the other. So if you want to repeat one recording to play instead cycling through the whole lot every time you have to manually enter the menu for every file you play to specify that it should only play that file.What I would like the most would be if it could just play one file and then stop but on the device I received this is not possible. It will cycle through all your recordings and then repeat indefinitely instead of just playing the recording you wanted to listen to. It's not the end of the world as one can just press stop after listening to a file but this just seems like poor programming. So it's no deal breaker, it just feels like a mistake the programmers never bothered to fix and since it doesn't impact the functionality much it's ok but it is an error if you ask me.Finally I should point out it was advertised as having 64GB of memory. It only has 60 GB. Still absolutely fine and everything else works exactly as I want. The voice recording option is perfect and picks up every word, then pauses during silence.As a note: make sure to adjust the gain setting and the volume settings to your desired level. The gain is how loud it records. It was set to level 2 but the maximum level is best for crisp clear recordings in my opinion.For the price I am very happy with what I got and fits my needs well.

Bought to take voice notes for a project. The menu is easy to navigate and the controls are easy to operate and responsive. The menu is also clear with the white text upon the dark background which is useful for me as someone which short sightedness. The 64gb storage is more than enough for me. Playback is crisp and comparable to more expensive dictaphones. Recommended! !

A super good recorder having in the past a old philips thing that sounded let's say crap.This little beauty is crystal clear especially when played back through a decent speaker.
