Protection
I hope I never have to use this product. Why did I buy it? I went to a meeting on what to do to protect yourself if you are uncomfortable with carrying gun. It is light weight. I can put it in my pocket or my purse.

Great combination safety device
I love that this pepper spray also has a siren that goes off when the spray is dispensed. The hand strap is easy to use also.

peace of mind
My girlfriend works in the city and has to commute home every night. There are a lot of crazy people out and about and especially on the subway. Since I can't be there to protect her I wanted to know she had some sort of protection just in case so I tried this. This is really compact and can fit on a keychain and having both an alarm and pepper spray it helps me rest a little easier at night knowing she has a couple forms of protection. The alarm is really loud and we obviously did not test the pepper spray.

I hope we never have to try it.
I got this for myself by giving it to my daughter. Every young girl (teens to thirties) that I know has had so much well-intentioned code of belief fed to them about being strong, overcoming, being empowered, that they are slightly over-confident. Don't misunderstand me, that advice is excellent for life in general, but has absolutely no relation to the outcome of attempting to overpower someone who lays hands on you with ill intentions.I had the best self-defense teacher for a while. She was a tough cop doing this as a moonlighting job. Teaching women to defend themselves in dark parks or biking trails, coming home alone, or approaching strangers in a parking lot. After we all did some warmup and cool practice moves, we learned which of our bones we would probably break if we tried to karate-chop the assailant, or spin-kick him in the head, throw him over our shoulder, or wait for him to stand close enough with his legs spread out. This beautifully sculpted muscle-bound ball of energy told us, "Your best defense is to scream and run. The deck becomes stacked if he lays hands on you." It took me a while to get over my disappointment that this was the best advice she had to give. I subsequently accepted my limitations in the area of hand-to-hand combat and learned to use pepper spray. And when my beautiful daughter went out on her own, I got her some too.So, is this PAPASAFETY pepper spray good for self-defense? Better than a Ushiro Geri, believe me. Looks pink and harmless and girly. But we know girlies are full of surprises. Between the screaming siren and the stream of pepper juice that reaches a lot farther than your leg can, it has you covered. Keep it in your hand.

Better To Have It, and NOT Need it…
I ordered this PAPASAFETY 3-in-1 Pepper Spray Personal Alarm for my Daughter-In-law. She and my Son said she was grateful for my concern and that she had been wanting some thing like this for a while now, but had not acted on the desire. She wrote:Siren is definitely loud, and strobe light is very bright. It's compact and fits well inside my purse, and the safety cap helps keep it from being accidentally pressed by other items in there. I’ve had it for over three months now, and it still works great. Nothing has lost function and even the chain/clip is still intact. Also it is easily able to be taken apart in order to refill with a new spray when needed. I don't have anything to complain about with it.Hopefully she will never need it!

Cannot be returned
After receiving this item, I decided that the precautions when handling were riskier than the protection provided. But the amazon chat assistant says it cannot be returned. Also note that the charging cable is very short, 3-4 inches, and doesn’t fit any of the adapters I have. So charging would mean having it hang from the back of my PC’s USB port.
