Chocolat Madagascar 'Grand Cru de Sambirano' Cocoa Powder Non Alkalised 1kg

I recently bought a Sirtfood diet book and found it to be an inspiration. Non alkalised cocoa is hard to find in the UK. This stuff has the characteristic bitterness of natural cocoa and comes double packed in think black plastic protecting it from harmful UV and keeping it fresh. I use it in baking, cooking and making hot cocoa and mocha! Thank you!

Once you start drinking this non alkalised cocoa powder from Madagascar's Sambirano rain forest with its distinctive fruity taste and hint of bitterness you could never return to the European or American products again.

This is interesting and a lot paler in colour than the usual treated cocoa we are mostly all used to buying.If you would normally use a teaspoon or a teaspoon and a half to make a cup of cocoa then you could probably double the quantity without it tasting too strong. I like to heat it with a slit piece of vanilla pod and ideally use maple syrup rather than sugar for the sweetening as that always gives a better flavour to all cocoa. You will though need some storage containers for this item as the pack is just as it looks: a black sealed poly bag inside the outer one and stuffed with cocoa.

Lovely cocoa, I was very pleased, nice and chocolatey with almost a fruity flavour, really nice as my night time drink. Would buy again for sure.

Autentico sabor a cacao. he flipado con su aroma, se nota que hay mucha calidad de por medio. Se disuelve estupendamente en líquidos a temperatura ambiente, en la leche fría cuesta más en disolver pero el sabor es una pasada. Tiene un precio bastante asequible para tal cantidad.Muy sorprendido por la calidad y sabor de este cacao puro, que al ser sin alcalinizar mantiene todas sus propiedades.Sin duda volveré a pedir. También le tengo echado el ojo a los nubs recubiertos con polvo de cacao, tienen pintaza.

Ich bin ein Kakaofreak, habe 20-30 Sorten in meinem morgendlichen Müsli probiert, doch dieser hier schmeckt meiner Meinung nach nicht nach Kakao. Die Farbe ist hell und der Geruch erinnert nur sehr schwach an Kakao. Wer also einen hellen und milden Kakao sucht, der wird hier fündig. Wer jedoch einen kräftigen, dunklen Kakao mit prägnanter Note sucht, der sollte einen anderen Kakao wählen. Der Kakao ist gut verpackt - er trifft nur nicht meinen Geschmack.

Normalmente suelo comprar el cacao Casa Luker (del mismo vendedor) que es magnífico, pero esta vez decidí probar este. El sabor es diferente pero ambos me gustan. El Madagascar es más suave y tiene un toque ligeramente afrutado, mientras que el Luker es más intenso y un poco más amargo. También he notado que el Madagascar se disuelve algo mejor, no hay que remover tanto como con el Luker.En resumen, si te gusta el cacao fuerte, te recomiendo el Casa Luker. Si lo prefieres suave, coge el Madagascar (aunque también se puede conseguir un sabor intenso echando más cantidad).

Cacao di qualità eccellente. Semplicemente gustandolo con un cucchiaino, ci si accorge della delicatezza e della grande struttura di questo prodotto. Le note fruttate e floreali si sviluppano prepotentemente appena la lingua incomincia a sciogliere questo che io definisco un nettare. Il paragone con altri cacao compresi quelli 'raw' è dalla notte al giorno. Per coloro che amano il cacao amaro, troveranno sicuramente una piacevole sorpresa
