Best overall protein cereal
I've tried basically every protein cereal, here's why I think Wheaties is the best:This cereal doesn't excel as the best in any category, but passes in all categories of taste, texture, price, and macros, unlike many high protein cereals that excel in one area but have major deal breakers like being overly dry in whey/pea based cereals (magic spoon or catalina) or nasty texture in milk from soy based cereals (special K zero or eat your mouth off). I'm glad that a mainstream company like General Mills is starting to make products like these, I want more competition from big brands. I'm also glad they realized that simple/cleaner sweetners is important. The box being 16oz makes it's price/oz MUCH better than the stingy 7oz boxes from the likes of magic spoon or special K zero (shame on you Kellogg's).Visually, it resembles special K protein (not zero) but has better macros, including more fiber, less sugar, and a better taste. This is an upgrade in every aspect, but at the cost of double $/oz. It's worth it though as special K protein is an anomaly, being insanely cheap for a protein cereal. Wheaties also uses honey as its only sweetener, unlike special K which uses sugar. The lack of added table sugar or artificial sweeteners from a big brand is commendable. This cereal is sweet enough as a dry snack. Those complaining about not being sweet enough are probably expecting something like frosted flakes, which is overly sweet and has about 4x more sugar/oz. It’s still sweeter than cereals like catalina crunch or premier protein. If you want your milk to get super sweet and "seasoned" from your cereal like from frosted flakes, just add some stevia drops to your milk...IMO, the main competitor would be premier protein, which has more protein per oz and a better protein/calorie ratio while still maintaining a reasonable price. The only drawback is that premier stopped offering bulk boxes which had insane value, and it's texture is drier and tends to get soggier in milk. The only other worthwhile alternative is catalina crunch if your priority is macros over it's very dry texture, as it's sugar free and only uses clean sweeteners in the form of monk fruit and stevia.Ratio is another cereal from general mills with a good balance of taste/texture/macro, but it uses tons of erythritol which causes gas and has the signature off-putting cooling effect on your tongue that erythritol is known for.

One of the best protein cereals out there
If you want a seemingly normal cereal that’s high in protein and low in sugar this is it. It looks tastes and feels like any clustery bran flake cereal. At 21 grams of protein per 280, it has legitimate protein. It’s not the most protein we’ve seen in cereal, but it’s a lot more than most that claim to be protein-rich cereal. There’s 6 grams of sugar which is less than most other cereal. We’re also happy to have sugar instead of the artificial sweetener taste. There’s even 5g of fiber! There’s two qualities that make this cereal less than perfect. First, it’s not as crunchy as it looks, but this is hardly noticeable in milk. And it still has some crunch. Second, the flakes stick together, so you might have to give it a quick shake before pouring. These are very minor criticisms.All-in-all this is our new favorite protein cereal. It’s the most normal-tasting of everything we’ve tried. It’s also one of the better values, being 16.4 ounces. This is twice the amount of most protein cereals. Definitely try it!

Balanced
Very good, tasty, high protein, low sugar and GI which makes it great for this diabetic who doesn’t like anything (me) will definitely buy again. Wish I could find it locally but apparently it doesn’t exist in my stores around myLocation.

Good Nutrition, But Sour Tasting
I decided to try this cereal since the fiber and especially the protein numbers looked good. But with (fresh) milk the cereal tasted sour and left that taste in my mouths for hours afterwards. I can't pin down the exact taste I described as sour, but it was not good.

I LOVE THIS CEREAL
Love this cereal. Have tried just about every brand of high protein cereal on the market and this is absolutely the best. Most of the high protein cereals are tasteless with the texture of cardboard. This one tastes good, is slightly more firm textured than regular cereal but it is really good. I actually like the fact that it doesn't turn into mush before I finish eating it. I have tried both flavors and they are both great. I have had bariatric surgery and it is hard to get in my 60 grams of protein every day...love being able to get a head start at breakfast. My husband loves it because. it is quick filling and if he has a late lunch he is not starving because of the high protein breakfast.

Just alright.
Wanted to add some extra protein to my diet. Finished the box and honestly the taste isn’t bad, but it really have much flavor. I’ll try the one next.

Tastes Like an Overachiever’s Breakfast
If Wheaties and a protein shake had a baby, this would be it. 22g of protein in a bowl of cereal is impressive, and the maple almond flavor is surprisingly good—not too sweet, not too bland. It’s crunchy, filling, and doesn’t leave me hungry an hour later. That said, if you’re expecting sugary, nostalgia-filled breakfast vibes, this isn’t it. It’s more “I have goals” than “Saturday morning cartoons.” But if you want a high-protein, no-nonsense start to your day, this gets the job done.

Bugs in sealed bag
The media could not be loaded. Normally a big fan of this cereal, but opened a new box today and it is full of bugs. I have attached a video to show the bag is still sealed.
