Comm1 Radio Simulator VFR [CD ROM]

Even though the software looks and feels VERY dated for 2013 (it almost feels like you should somehow load it from DOS on an IBM machine), it is very functional and does the job well. There is no way to skip forward or go back - if you missed something in a lesson, you have to listen to the whole thing again. However, because of using this product, my radio skills did get better. "Whiteman Ground, Skyhawk Seven Tree Eight Tango Juliet, Glendale Hangar, taxi for takeoff to Camarillo, have information Zulu."

Product does not work on Windows 8.1 64 bit. The microphone produces scripting errors consistently. The program is Mickey Mouse from Windows 95 days. Date on most of the files on the CD is 1998,When I purchased from Amazon thru Pilots HQ LLC, the description stated it worked on Windows 7 or later. It also states this on the box. After several discussions with Comm1, and Pilots HQ LLC, I was advised that it does not work with Win 8.Then when I asked for a refund, Pilots HQ LLC wanted me to pay for return shipping as well as 20% restocking fee. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM "PILOTS HQ, LLC".Amazon is trying to resolve this with the seller.

But now I would expect a whole lot more from a product in this price range. They have done nothing to continue the development their product. Buy used, there is no benefit in buying a new copy. I never fly enough to feel comfortable on the radio, so I keep hoping that someone will come out with something to replace this tired old program.

This was was recommended to me by my flight school, and it really helps if you need to improve your communication skills. They've used this software for all the students for a while now, and the majority of them thought it was really helpful. I ended up purchasing mine used. There's no reason to pay full price for a new copy if used is available.This is not a VHS tape like it states in the title. That is an error

Not bad training tool to build radio comm skills with flying. Wish it had more interactive scenarios where you really chat with live controllers and have real feedback insteadof canned responses which made this kinda lame. For the price, it should work like a real sim application.
