Super easy to use
At under £7, it's not bad! It's fairly quiet compared to some other models, which is a huge plus for my noise-sensitive doggo. It's also super easy to use - just pop in some AA batteries (not included) and press the button. Here's the thing, it feels a bit on the cheap side. The plastic isn't the sturdiest, and it comes apart to put the batteries in, which wasn't the smoothest operation. Also, the grinding head gets hot surprisingly fast, so I have to take breaks to avoid hurting my dog's paws.Another thing to consider is that it seems better suited for smaller dogs or puppies. My dog is a full-grown Labrador, and it takes ages to grind down her nails. It might be perfect for someone with a chihuahua or a kitten, though.Overall, for the price, it works. But if you have a larger dog or need a heavy-duty grinder, you might want to look elsewhere.

Easy to use
My dog hates having his nails clipped so figured this grinder was worth a try.I fooled my dog into touching the grinder and then rewarding him with treats. Then I switched it on - very easy on and off operation. A bit more training and he held his nail against the on grinder in exchange for a reward!Single speed operation. Battery operated. Easy on and off.Has a nail guard to protect the pads and to protect from grinding too much. There is no storage pouch with this but it doesn’t take away from the overall product.Good product and easy to use

Scared my dogs
You will need to provide two AA batteries before you can use the grinder. Operation is simple, just a push button, and the replaceable grinding wheel can be used with or without a plastic guard which has a stepped aperture through which you can insert the dog or cat's claw. Grinding speed is not variable.Unfortunately, even the most tolerant of my dogs was not happy to be subjected to the grinding noise and sensation for long enough to make a significant impact on his claws and my chihuahua was terrfied, even though the grinder is fairly quiet. With perseverance and perhaps limiting grinding to one claw per session, I might be able to achieve some results but for now my dogs are averse to this device. If you have an animal which is prepared to let you use the grinder, it does seem to reduce claw length quite effectively with less risk of damage compared to clippers, as it is a gradual progressive shortening of the claw.

The grinding wheel gets very hot
PACKAGING: Colour marketing rear card with a clear plastic frontPRODUCT: Pet nail grinderFUNCTION: This is made from plastic and looks very cheap. The main body breaks in two parts so you can insert the two AA batteries (not supplied). Then there is the orange cap. This cap houses the file grinding wheel. It can be used with the cap on or off. Used with it on, there is a cut out where the pets nail can be placed.I inserted my batteries and was very impressed by how quiet the device was. Much less than his clippers. My little dog even came over to investigate. I put his nail on the wheel as it spun, but he immediately jumped away, like it hurt him. I thought this odd, so I put my finger tip on the grit wheel as it spun, to get a sense of what he had felt and was horrified to find it was hot to the touch. I could not believe this as I had only just switched it on and operated it, for literally seconds. So I tried it again, just in case I had imagined the heat, but no, the sand/grit paper was extremely hot. I am aware friction causes heat, but surely not that quickly? And if it gets that hot, that quickly, I am assuming it will just increase and get worse. I have never used a nail grinder before, so perhaps this heat emission, this quickly is normal, but I am not going to chance hurting my dog.At the time of this review the grinder was £6.99. I am unable to recommend this protect.

Helpful
My dog has black nails so can be tricky to cut right especially as he won't sit still. Now I can just quickly cut the edges and use these file the rest away without the fear of hurting him. They are silent and work really well. Would recommend

works great
Works great to file down animal claws, my dogs seem to prefer this over the traumatising clippers, they seem to like the buzzing effect as it tickles them a little too so is always fun and games! Easy to use, turn on and go then turn off and put up for next time. Will take a while to grind down nails but if your animal is opposed to the other way then this might just work for you.

Budget tool, better for pups than adult dogs
This is quite a cheap gadget compared to more substantial versions on the market. The two sections come apart to insert the batteries, I had a job screwing them back together. There are four sandpaper type bands, so what happens when they wear out I don't know, can't see anything about replacements. You insert the animal's claw though a hole in the cap, but I found it pulled the claw to one side. Also it took a long time to grind anything down, and my nine year old dog wouldn't tolerate it for any length of time. He is a spaniel, and so I think this tool would really only be useful for small dogs and puppies to get them used to having their nails ground in this way. It would take forever on a large dog.On the plus side it is very quiet to run.

Cheap feeling
This is a very good value grinder at currently 3.99, it is battery operated and nice and compact to store. We got this to try and lull our dog into having his claws filed but sadly with this he still won't let us near his feet! The grinder works well and spins a small sandpaper covered disk around but doesn't feel very durable and is very lightweight. I can't comment on effectiveness of grinding nails as my dog won't conform but as a cheap fix this may be useful, if it lasts.
