Amazing retriever if you use it right!
Ok look - this is not a ball retriever meant for some pond that is basically a lake bottom. This is meant to use in an artificial pond found on some golf courses that have the lined bottoms with the circulating pumps for water. IF you use this retriever in those circumstances, this things is PERFECT for it and it works AWESOME. Just like some other reviewers said, don't get in a hurry, pull slow and low and this will reward you with many, many golf balls. One bit of advice is to definitely reinforce the dog-clips with a zip tie to make sure in case the dog-clips break because they are pretty cheaply made. Other than that, it works fantastically. I have used it once so far and raked in about 60 balls in 20 minutes or less! Happy fishing everyone! :)

Cheap clips, suffered the fate of Davy Jones.
I used this a few times on flat cement pond beds of a local course. Works decent when it worked. A couple balls at a time, usually, some empty throws. Unfortunately it broke at the metal clips once it got snagged on something under the water and lost the basket. Must upgrade the clips after ordering otherwise it will end up like an anchor at the bottom of the pond.

Great
A great tool for retrieving golf balls farther into the water. However, because of its design, use it only if you can see the ball(s) you wish to recover, as the device might easily get stuck or hooked by underwater rocks and other objects in the floor.

Great product and gets job done but see areas for improvement
Good product 2nd one bought the first 20 years ago It’s almost the same as the first one I had although it is now made with smaller snaps and the cage nylon and throw nylon connection is weak as well… don’t get me wrong it does do the job and have gotten 7-800 balls in a very short amount of time (after modifications): I’m not knocking it just saying it could be improved upon and be an ever better dredge …especially in the weight and cage width department… I lose a bunch over the top on small snags. Overall it does still get the job done, just put some thick plastic ties where metal snaps are! It will pay for itself your first 30 minutes….

They reduced the rod thickness
Buyer beware. Bought a new one a couple of months ago and it is junk. I use it in a golf course pond and the rod already snapped. As you can see in the photo, the rod thickness is significantly thinner the my old one from a couple of years ago. Obvious cost reduction without reducing the purchase price. Nice job ruining a decent product!

Cheap clips, retrieves 50% of the balls it passed over
Like the other reviews, the clips snapped off the first day. For $20 I expected better quality. The leads going tho the ball retriever seemed a little short also. Other than that it works ok. The water in the pond I was working was crystal clear and I’d say it grabs about 50% of the balls it travels over.

Good product but needs some improvements.
The product is okay. I've modified mine about six times. The strap is too short, I increased mine to fifty feet. I added two additional bars on it because balls fell out sometimes when it was being retrieved from the water. It doesn't work in some ponds because of algae. I've gotten over 2,000 balls out of one pond. It works great with my modifications.

Ignore bad reviews
This product should have atleast 4 stars. I’ve only used it once in a good spot and picked up so many balls within 30 minutes. Can’t talk on reliability much yet but it feels solid. Already made my money back on it so.
