Honestly, I wasnāt expecting much: but I am impressed.
Iāve long appreciated the dream of the digital writing surface: where pen and screen meet with the same natural draw as pen and paper.Iāve also been waiting a long time, years, for that to become anything other than a dream. Earlier eink solutions were a step in the right direction, but the delay was off-putting.Even the prior Apple pencil efforts on the iPad, while improving upon the delay, something was still off.I recently upgraded to the latest and greatest 2024 iPad Air 13 inch, and with it, the Apple Pencil Pro. So: why not sample the current state of the art? Iāve been seeing these paper-texture screen protectors popping up on my radar over the last year or so, but hadnāt yet tried it out.Until now.First: I always have a heck of a time installing screen protectors. Bubbles are inevitable. I often live with them, simply because I can never manage to get a perfect application.Second: while the 13 inch iPad Airās screen is closer to a regular sheet of letter paper, it is perhaps a bit unwieldy for serious writing: I prefer smaller notepads, so perhaps the iPad mini is worth exploring. But: I am impressed. Even the feel of the screen, the friction my fingers experience while moving over it: evokes a sense of paper.Using the note app on my iPad, I tried some writing, then wrote some more, then yet more.I tried out the writing to text functionality (it could still use some improvement; then again: is it optimized for cursive? Or only printed handwriting?)The dream seems to have progressed closer to reality. Iāll have to investigate if I can get notes to give me āruledā paper, or graph paper for some other activities I indulge in. The fact that I WANT to indulge is huge. For something so simple as a screen protector to vastly improve the digital handwriting experience? Thatās one of those ānice thingsā we deserve.

Works for anti glare
I bought this item by mistake thinking it was a screen protector for my new iPad. I came to find out that it is NOT that. However, I canāt say anything negative about it. I applied it and it does take the glare off the screen since itās more of a āmatteā type finish. However, I do not have a pen for my iPad so i cannot speak to its quality as it relates to drawing/doodling on it, which is its main purpose. It is a thin sheet, similar to the thinness of a piece of paper and it applies easily.

Perfect!
This was super easy to put on. The adhesion is great and it was easy to smooth out any air bubbles once I got it on. I absolutely love the feel! there's something about drawing on a paper like material that trumps anything else. I absolutely adore this and refuse to have anything else on a tablet. if you draw at all, get this, for real!

Works great for the scribble feature on iPad with the Pencil
I wanted this for the anti-glare feature, but it really works well with the apple Pencil

Not paper-like
I do not like the feel of it, it feels like fine grit sandpaper. My stylus drags on it and the screen is less responsive to my stylus. It feels abrasive enough that, I think, it is going to, quickly, ruin the tip on my stylus. The photo shows the marks left by using my clean finger instead of a stylus š
