Powerful at a weak price
At its price point, this is one of the most impressive machines I have used to this day. I’ve been welding for close to 20 years now and this thing lays down when you want it to. I run it as a piggy back machine off of my older miller trailblazer (generator 220v power) and I’ve put about 100 pounds of wire through it so far 10 10# spools in a few weeks time only had it over heat 1 time because it was sitting next to the trailblazer which was throwing off substantial heat. I’ve now relocated and haven’t had that problem since. I ran it nearly maxed out welding 1/2 plate steel to 1/4 plate steel for about 4 hours straight with no issues and excellent penetration. If you are having problems with this machine it’s more than likely user error or wrong settings, do yourself a favor and do some research on proper settings and technique. The plasma cutter on it performs well with light duty cuts but will struggle cutting heavier plates for a long distance. It will cut through 1/4 plate like butter but anything thicker requires a little more attention. The only real flaw I can find with this machine is it is not capable of AC current (tig aluminum) other than that it exceeds performance expectations for anyone looking for a home or garage welder. I use this thing to make money and it’s paid for itself 13 times already in just a few weeks. At that rate I’ll buy one once a month if I have to.

Great for beginners.
Really great for individuals that are learning. I love welding with it.

good welder
I was surprised by how well this welds. the instructions are less then desirable and hard to understand for those that have never welded before. learning tip, when feeding the wire remove the tip other wise it will not feed through it

Very pleased with this welder!
This is a great little welder for the price point. I am very impressed and pleased I selected this particular unit. It wasn't easy. I based my decision on feedback and reviews from other buyers. The only complaint I have, and it's pretty significant, is there was nothing on the package to show me how to set up. No instructions whatsoever. Most people buying welders have previous experience but not all. So this was a real bummer. I had to go on the net for help and that was even difficult. Finding this exact model wasn't happening. So I had to use several different postings to get it set up.Besides this oversight I highly recommend the Sunstac 150A welder to anyone looking for a light weight very portable welder that gets the job done!!

Better be clairvoyant!
This is a very strange machine in alum MIG mode. There are no traditional amp / feed settings that make any sense. Even though the welder is rated at 200 amps, and the placard inside the door list aluminum MIG in amps (up to 200 for .156" thick alum) but you can only set it to 25, what ever that means? Now I know the current is there because it will burn through 3/16 material if the settings are maxed out (25), it is mystifying what the settings in MIG mode mean. The manual is written in reasonable English, it just never discusses the basic settings. I spent three hours in trying to weld aluminum in MIG / Argon with systematically setting the values and I never got anything that resembled a weld I have ever seen. I am proficient in MIG flux core and MIG gas shield, took classes in tech school in arc welding and gas welding but I am not a professional welder.Oh, and no videos by the manufacturer or even an email tech support address to ask questions.

ALIEN TECH
For a 110v welder, this thing rocks! I am a Welding Tech School graduate, and have run some big Miller's and Lincolns. I was surprised how well this machine works. I have a WEN 3600 inverter generator and it powers this welder at 72 amps on stick or FC. This runs the .30 wire well. It baffles me how affordable and capable this machine is. This is the definition of value. I have been welding for many years and this has become my favorite ultraportable welder.

Need more clear instruction.
I don't know yet because I have not used it yet because it is hard to understand how to prepare it. It needs a better and clearer instruction on how to connect for the first time for me who is a new user.

good for price
Tried the Yeswelder, it was not fun. after returning tried this Sunstac which is very similar but much better in quality, price, and user experience.Side Door is a bit small but not a deal breaker because it DOES fit a 10 lb spool which i was worried about.Metal Drive Roller unit is great for this price point.Screen is easy to see, read, and navigate, even in the sun.Torch/whip/gun handle quality is great.lugs are robust and solid copper.Fan is intermittent which is nice so the machine is only humming when it needs too. When you turn it on it take a few seconds to light up but don't worry this appears to be normal for the Sunstac products (I have them all, mig , acdc tig, plasma. separate machines).I did drop this machine and it was okay. So Build Quality is Reliable for work conditions, still try not to drop it i may have gotten lucky.have not tried stick, so cannot vouch for 6010 but the leads are basic but good.. I have a Lincoln Engine Drive for this..hoping i get some info or a response regarding the plasma cut tips and consumables which i mentioned in another review.wish to do business with you . thank you
