Yes, it does attract flying insects...Doubtful on the entire acre.
The description says it covers an entire acre but it did not or, maybe I don't know what "covers an entire acre" actually means. I had the trap set up for weeks and I was still plagued by flying insects. (Can't help but feel that the machine was actually bringing in a lot more bugs.) A lot of bugs did meet their end but a lot did not. The unit is actually well constructed however be mindful when emptying it there are quite a few live bugs that will escape.
