Not too sure about the bubble wrap packaging that they arrived in. Considering the price of these pilers is considerably more than I wanted to pay, I'd have appreciated a box. Having said that the bubble wrap pocket is perfectly adequate protection. Yet more single use plastic heading to landfill. The pliers seem nice in the hand, reassuringly heavy. Though a quick scrutiny reveals that the jaws don't meet there's a tiny gap probably marginally less than a sheet of paper. The cutting edges on the other hand do meet perfectly. Looking forward to using them and adding to my increasing Knipex collection.

The 200 mm size of these pliers strikes a perfect balance between versatility and ease of use for me. I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the quality, performance and durability of this tool.One of the features of the Knipex 03 06 200 pliers is their VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik, Elektronik und Informationstechnik) certification. This certification assures users that the tool meets rigorous safety standards for electrical work. The insulated multi-component grips not only provide excellent ergonomics but also protect against electrical shocks up to 1000V AC, adding a layer of safety and peace of mind when working on live circuits. Though I've never needed this functionality, it makes the tool slightly bulkier and heavier giving it a premium feel even over the non-VDE Knipex range.

Very nice pliers. Hard to imagine how they could be bettered. Pricey? Yes, but quality costs. Unless you lose these or have them nicked, it's unlikely you'll ever need to replace them.

Positives: these are decent pliers which do what you would expect and will probably last for ever. They are comfortable in the hand due to good size and good handles.Negatives: Required considerable clean lubrication out of the box due to residual burnt oil from the hardening process. They are stiff in the final 5-10 degrees of movement. The fore grips to not meet flush (1mm gap), personally I would prefer both the grips and cutters to meet precisely flush but perhaps this is a design feature. Cheaper pliers do the same job.

I had a pair since 2001, still going strong till the wife put them away, now I have 2 pairs.... The ones she put away safe that I'll find some day, 5 years,10 who knows but if these new ones are of exactly the same build quality as before then I'm happy out as they just cut with ease and the striping of cables to terminate is also a dream as they just do exactly what you want.Was very surprised at price too as I paid much more back in 2001.

It does everything you want a plier to do and well. The cable cutters are excellent

The chrome on the new Knipex tools is not the same as it once was. The new chrome process appears to be of lower quality. The tool is still awesome. It opens and closes freely which is not always the case, I might just have been lucky with this one.
