These lanterns are lightweight, obviously designed to be hang without posing a burden, like hanging on bushes or strings not meant for a large load. There is no glass protecting the bulb, it is just a lighteight (probably aluminum) mesh. The light effect is very nice, as the mesh cage is golden metal on the inside and black on the outside, and the bulbs light has an amber tint. Definitely copying in look some old lanterns, now in an updated technology.These are using AAA batteries, which last more than 6 hours for the bulb wattage. I actually prefer this design to designs that use a built-in battery: built-in batteries are dictating the lifespan of the whole product. And for things like these, that are used seasonally, built-in rechargeable batteries need maintenance for the non-use periods of the year – quite a burden. So, I do like that these use regular AAA batteries.The construction looks good, overall. The linear switch on the bottom has three positions: ON, OFF and TIMER. It doesn’t feel very sturdy, real small standard switch, but works as expected. The metal mesh is nice but not sure how sturdy it may be. The battery compartment cover on one from the pair I got is slightly warped, still it does close and there is no functional impact. There are no printed instructions coming with these, and no warranty from the manufacturer.These are not a full five stars in my opinion, but nice enough for me to err on rounding up.

These are nice little lanterns! I took off a star because the metal handles that come with it suffered during the painting process. They cast a very nice glow. They’re a nice size without being too large. They are a good price for the quality of the lantern. I like that they come in a 2 pack. They look great on my outdoor dining table!

Super cute. I wanted something like this for my living room, as I have a sort of cottage core/dark academia vibe in my house, and this fit in perfectly. They're lightweight, but that's part of the appeal to me. Because they are lighter, you might need to weigh them down a little or place them somewhere secure if using them outside. (We get super windy where I live, but in milder climates they'd probably be fine.) Overall, great little product.

I got these because they reminded me of the Chinese lanterns and I’m glad I did.The LED’s can go from soft to bright. They look good, the battery lasts a long time and they perform beyond expectation.I bought these to use while camping but I like them so much I put them in my patio.

These lanterns are nice looking and can provide light in an area where an outlet is not readily available. For example, an outdoor evening gathering or in a space where it may be dark but you do not require a lot of light from an overhead source.They come with two choices of handles. Either the rope or the metal which can be interchangeably swapped out easily. It is also nice that there are four bulbs included. Two already inside each lantern and two additional ones.The lanterns are battery operated and require (3) AAA batteries. But the light switch does have a choice to leave it on or use the timer to save battery life.Although I like the overall look of the lanterns is okay, I am surprised by how light weight they are. Depending on one’s needs, that can be a pro or a con. If they are being carried around often, then the lightness is a pro.But since I wanted these for outdoor decorative purposes, it is a con for two reasons:1. Where I reside the lightness of the lantern would cause the lanterns to be blown around in my yard when there is a breeze.2. I own various lanterns and the metal is heavier in weight for about the same cost as these.So, in the end, I am deducting two stars for price and how lightweight they are.

These went well with my back deck area. So far they've been working and the batteries seem to last a while and am using rechargeables.

I recently ordered this 2 set of outdoor lanterns. These are well designed, chic & trendy! These offer a good size & look appealing rather lit or not. The bulbs are included, but you have to supply your own batteries may it be expensive or the affordable type you'll need 3 AAA batteries (not included). These also offer a timer mode so you don't have to turn on/off. You can choose between 6 hours on/18 hours off.
