Incredibile secret!
I love the whole "Secret..." series, I have around 6 of them and I think they are remarkably well done. Thus Venice one was no exception, the only thing I would say is that sometimes the places in the book are very difficult to locate ona map and hard to find... But I guess that is why they are "secret"!I would totally recommend!

a real treasure hunt
This series is great fun. I found a few 'would have been missed' points of interest on my Venice walks. This interesting read is a good way to familiarise yourself with a new (or revisited) venue.

Interesting
Love the 'Secret' series. This one just as good as others.

Good fun
Like all the 'secret' books this adds an enormous amount of interest and purpose to an otherwise aimless walk. Really good fun.

One of the best guide books out there for serious lovers of La Serenissima.
I bought this book 8 months ago on my last trip to Venice. Unfortunately I bought it on my last day there, just as I was about to leave for the airport. Since buying it, I have read through it and realised what a treasure I stumbled on.I adore Venice and have been consumed by its art and history since I was a teenager. This incredible guide book opened my eyes to so many titbits of information that my love of this wonderful city has grown even more. Every page is packed with historical stories I never knew and little sights I have missed on my nine trips there. It has obviously been meticulously researched to find places that no tourist (and probably not even most Venetians) knew existed. So this book, together with Lorenzetti's brilliant "Venice and its Lagoon", will be the two guide books I'll be taking to Venice on my next trip in two weeks time. For anyone with a serious love of this most beautiful and amazing city, I can't recommend it more highly. But make sure you read through it before you go; there is so much packed into its pages that you'll want to have an idea of what you want to see and what little interesting nooks are hidden in the corners as you walk around the labyrinth. For first time visitors, this book will provide great background info before you get to Venice, but the DK Eyewitness guide would be the best to use while there. So ignore the 1 star review that troll posted in a failed attempt at a joke review. This guide is brilliant.
