I've always loved cats & grew up w/ all types of breeds but never the beautiful Burmese. We have owned several Siamese cats; both traditional & modern & Snowshoe cats also. I love all cats & breeds but tend to migrate toward the Oriental breeds. We wanted to purchase/adopt a Burmese cat b/c I've heard so many wonderful things about this majestic, mystical & gorgeous breed but I wanted to know more about it b/c every breed has their own personality, character traits & sense of style. Before anything, If you love Burmese cats & want to adopt one, please try adopting a Burmese from the humane society, pet or cat rescue. There's a lot of people that love these cats but think they can't afford one & there's so many adoption centers & rescues that have Burmese cats amongst a variety of other breeds, both purebreed & American shorthair cats. In fact; our newest addition to our family is a Burmese boy that we adopted from a cat rescue. There's also specific rescues for specific breeds so wherever you purchase your cat or pet; try a rescue first as there's so many wonderful cats/dogs waiting to be loved & adopted from these pet prisons. A pet that's adopteted/rescued will never forget what you did for them always! All that being said; we adopted a beautiful Burmese boy & had to learn about this majestic breed. I thought they'd be similar in character to their relatives; the Siamese; but I was foolish to think that! We call our boy a gentle giant & are amazed how much the media uses Burmese cats! It wasn't until we adopted our boy that we started to see Burmese cats in commercials, ads, movies & television. We love our Burmese boy so much & wanted to learn everyhting about his particular breed in order to be in tuned to his needs, be in in sync & harmony w/ him & get a full knowledge to be the best possible parents to him. Look no further than this book! This book has everything you need to know. It makes it easy to follow & is well organized.I can't imagine ever needing any other book specifically geared towards Burmese as this book is the complete guide. If you're wondering if this breeds a good match for you; this books explains the pros & cons, behavior, personality, care, health, etc. everything from A to Z. This book is a wonderful reference for all Burmese lovers & owners or for any perspective buyers/adopters of this strikingly beautiful Burmese breed. Perfect breed= Perfect book! A must read!

Really great. Everything you need to know about raising your Burmese kitten. Have had Burmese for decades, but this book added new information. Easy to read with lots of good links.
