After having tried our hands with setting up cameras and lights with the circle clam shell mounted wire junction boxes we decided we needed a more waterproof solution for some ground level wire junctions we were going to be making outside in the elements.Upon arrival we opened the package and right away it appeared we had the solution we were looking for. This junction box is secured by an all around case gasket and your choice of two sizes of grommet wiring.This is a tight little case made for the junction itself. Once joined the box is secured shut by screws and all entry points are well sealed by a gasket or well fitted grommet. This is the box you envision when thinking of a waterproof wire junction solution and it holds up to it's calling.We used our box to seal a junction for a set of security cameras where the wiring was going along the ground and it performed perfectly. Next I think we will get some small conduit carry the line to and from the box. This box is just what our newest camera project needed and it is the right piece for the job. Will get another when the time comes.

I used this junction box to make a double generator cord for my barn. I have 2 panels that both need to be generator fed during an outage, and only 1 30a/220v outlet on my generator. I measured the cable before ordering and although the 10/3 w/ground wire fits well in the adapter with the largest sleeve, the terminal block is no where large enough for 2 10 ga wires on one side. Instead I used wire nuts and patience to cram it all together. This box and terminal block would work great for 16ga, maybe 14ga wire, but nothing larger.Overall it worked in the end, but I was hoping for a cleaner connection than i ended up with.The box itself is sturdy, and the gasket makes a nice weathertight seal. The compression sleeves for the cords do hold well, I just wish it was a bit bigger to allow for the size of wire you can fit into each end.

Just an warning upfront: This product is not UL listed and doesnt conform to the NEC for residential electrical service devices, a requirement in many locales if your pulling a digging permit to bury electrical branch circuits to an outbuilding.With that out of the way, this is an excellent LOW-VOLTAGE splice box. The IP68 rating appears to be valid, I submerged the device for 5 minutes in a 5 gal bucket of water with Cat 6 cable snaked through and the cable glands tightened; after opening not a drop of water was inside. Would recommend using thread tape on the cable glands to ensure better sealing for long-term use.The overall device is constructed of PA66, better known as Vinyl 66, which does have the ability to withstand the temperature range and flame retardance as claimed. The Cable glands close down tightly and uniformally on Cat 6 cable, which is roughly the same diameter of most common low-voltage cables. The access cover has a self-sealing grommet that is evenly spaced around the cover edge with no gaps. The interior dimensions are sufficient to place several splices, and would also accomdate a smaller device such as a lightening arrestor.Some application notes:- If your using 12-2 or 14-2 landscaping wire, try to find a type that has the round jacket. Most types, inlcuding those in the big box store, have a twin-axial (side by side) design that creates a flat rectangular design. Rectangles, like square pegs, dont fit well in a round hole, and its likely that the water seal entering the box may leak.- As previoulsy noted, this device works GREAT for low-volage direct-bury splicing scenarios, but it also works great for above ground security systems. I have several PoE IP cameras that have this type of box protecting the connections betweent the camera dongle and the Cat 6 Cable.Overall the product ges five stars for quality and design when used in low-voltage applications.

This small box can seal out the elements and accepts from 1/4" to 1/2" wires thanks to the different silicone cable gland rings. I got this to house an inline waterproof switch to control 12v powered pump, so had to cut a hole and seal the switch in the cover. The three tiny screws which secure the cover are easy to lose and not captive in their holes. While this is potentially annoying, the screws can be found with a magnet if dropped, ask me how I know. There are four tabs on the corners with holes for mounting the box to a surface. If you need a small waterproof box for electrical connections or switches, this is a good choice!

This box comes with 3 sets of green sealing pads and it fits my 12/2 cables perfectly. The box comes with everything I needed to complete the weatherproof connections for 12v lights on my lawn mower.It seems to me that if someone used smaller than my 12guage cable then the sealant pieces probably couldn't make that solid seal, but using 12/2 works perfectly with the smallest hole (through those squeeze sealant pads).

This is a great solution when you need to connect cables and keep out moisture/dust. IP68 rating provides confidence it'll stay dry, while the hinged lid ensures you won't lose it (I'm ashamed to admit that's been a problem before).

We have permanently installed RGB lighting on our house that we use year round and these junction boxes have worked great. With the lighting being used year round you have to occasionally repair the wiring and these junction boxes make that task very easy. They can be used where ever you need them and they are 100% waterproof. Our 12 volt lighting works on 3 wire cable and the glands included with these boxes keep water out where the cable enters the box, the cover has a waterproof gasket and these boxes can also be used underground! I highly recommend them!
