I bought these for peace of mind. The problem is that I'm not sure how well they work, until an accident happens. Hopefully, that won't be too late. I am looking for opportunities to try these on glass and on seatbelt material. I have read articles saying how these really can't get through modern auto glass. The only good thing is that this is a good deal for six of these!

After opening the box, I found six hammers, each one individually bubble-wrapped for shipping. Each one is placed in its own mounting bracket as well. There were two each colors: red, bright pink, and bright green. Each one had bright yellow reflective strips on them, the better to see them if there is little or no light available to you when you are searching for them in an emergency.You can pull the hammer out of its storage cradle by pulling the top of it out of the mounting bracket. When you heft it in your hand, the plastic handle is smooth but also has grooves in it, making it easy to grip.It is top-heavy, as the two metal tips of the hammer are large and made of durable metal. You’ll see what I mean if you gently and carefully tap the tip of the metal hammers into the center of your palm and feel the weight of them as you do so.I don’t have any glass to test how well this will work, nor do I want to use this on my car window unless absolutely necessary and it's an emergency. However, after hefting it in my hand, I think it will break a car window handily if I ever need it to.The small cutting blade is hidden and recessed into the bottom of the hammer. You can use this for cutting your seat belt if you need to escape and you cannot do so. It is sharp and as I used it to slice some paper with a back-and-forth motion, it successfully and easily cut tears into it.Each hammer comes in its own mounting bracket if you want to affix it to the inside of your car. You don’t have to do that, as you can put it in your glove compartment, your storage compartment in between your driver’s seats or anywhere else you want to keep it nearby in case of an emergency.Because this is a six-pack that is reasonably priced, you can put them in your vehicles and give the remaining hammers to your friends or family as well.No one ever wants to get into a car crash or even think about the possibility. However, what will you do if it happens? This tool is the answer to that “what if” question. These little tools are very handy and something that everyone should keep in their cars for an emergency. My only concern with this product is that it may be to lightweight. I am not sure that if a window would have to be broken that this would be heavy enough to break the glass if you were hurried and in a panic. It is a very reasonable price for six items and you can give them to friends and family. It can even be mounted in the cor so that it is easy to access. I am just concerned with its durability.

I wanted to be prepared just in case.The 2-in-1 safety hammer has a seat belt cutter and a glass breaker.The safety hammer itself has a reflective strip and a textured anti-slip handle.It also comes on a 'holder'/'holster' so you can 'screw' it into a convenient place in your car.We did not install the holder/holster in our car.I love that these car safety hammers came in a pack of 6 so I can put two in each of our cars.We simply slipped the safety hammer into the side door pocket of both the driver and passenger side of each of our 3 vehicles.
