Do not buy - no value for money
Yesterday I received my Melitta 1-cup coffee maker. This was beyond disapointing and I think a warning is appropriate. In particular about the price: 10x overpriced.I already have a nice retro-style Melitta ceramic coffee can+filter, nostagia-branded with Melitta in the ceramic. That was expensive, but alas ... we buy sometimes silly things. What you get with this set of $29 is a melitta one cup filter cone, modern style (btw, not so easy to handle without dropping it) with openings to see how far the mug has already filled. That is very practical, but you can also buy just that pour over cone (be aware!!! prices for that piece of plastic range from $24 for 1 to $11.80 for 2!! there maybe even cheaper offers) and use any mug.The second part of the set is a mug. Shocking what they dare to sell in this $29 set. The mug is the ugliest you can imagine. High-gloss black, not very big, just super ugly cheap design and nowhere anything 'special' like Melitta branding. Only a sticker on the bottom: Made in China. Value $1 .In summary: for $29 ($31 with taxes etc) you get a $1 ugly mug + a $6 filter cone. Conclusion and my recommendation: do not buy.

Perfect.
Just got a four pack of these, put them through the dishwasher (top rack), and started putting them to use. I heat up water in the electric kettle, put approximately two heaping soup spoons (or maybe they're "tablespoons," but not measuring spoons) of ground coffee in the filter, slowly add a little water, swirling it so that it dampens all the grounds, wait a little bit, then continue to add water.Tastes great, and I'm not even grinding my own beans.

Horrible cup of coffee
Bought this to use in my classroom - first time I tried it, I used the usual amount of water I would normally use to the usual amount of coffee. I ended up with a semi-dark colored cup of water with a bit of a coffee taste. It was absolutely not worth the $6 I spent on it at Publix. Hate the thing. I now just use the coffee cup itself as an extra - even that was chipped when I took it out of the box. :-/

There was FOUR of these in the box!
Works great! I was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for a way to make just one cup of super strong coffee and this is the perfect solution! I thought I was getting one but turns out this is a pack of FOUR, so I gifted three of them. Super cool.

I love this coffer maker
I love this coffer maker ... If you want stronger coffee here is a tip . Boil your water in the microwave in a microwave safe glass large enough to make the amount of coffee you want to make + coffee. Boil the water add the coffee let it sit a bit then pour into the filter ... You make need to heat just a few seconds again before drinking ...Enjoy :)

The real taste of coffee
A coworker had one and made me a cup. Best coffee I ever made. I bought one and let my wife try it. I'm now buying more to stash at both of my offices and her office and for presents. The trick is you have to grind your coffee at the store at the finest seting. I use 2 tablespoons of Community Coffee dark roast. That is what they reccommend. You may be able to use slightly less coffee by processing it twice. Also the water should be between 195 degrees and 205. I use the temp probe for the microwave and set it at 195.
