In 2018 Hasbro began utilizing a new paint printing process called "Photo Real" which they hoped would ensure not only more accurate character likenesses but also greater consistency between different instances of the same figure. The initial offerings proved successful as Rey (Island Journey) and DJ were met with much enthusiasm from fans and review sites alike. Appearing just in time to capitalize on this new technology is Governor (Grand Moff) Tarkin from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. This character is a personal favorite and I'm happy to say that after a long wait and several failed attempts I finally got him and he definitely lived up to my expectations.The single most important factor in creating a Tarkin figure is facial accuracy. Horror icon Peter Cushing is immediately identifiable from the intense eyes and sharp angles of his face, both of which Hasbro got right. From just about any angle under almost any lighting I've subjected it to, my Tarkin figure is instantly recognizable as Cushing. This is an unquestionably accurate representation of the actor. Thankfully the detailing on the rest of the figure is great too - the subtle creases in his uniform, the Imperial bar on his lapel. The figure is of very high quality and in my opinion looks exactly how it should. He looks great standing straight with his hands held behind his back in classic Tarkin style, a pose of refined evil that's effortlessly accomplished thanks to a lack of balancing issues. While this iconic pose is easily achieved (indeed the grip of his hands almost seems specifically designed for it) his other famous pose - that of his hand to his mouth, patiently awaiting news of the Rebels' destruction - is unfortunately not possible due to the unavoidable limitations of plastic flexibility. Still, with the TBS6 standard two dozen points of articulation and a reasonably pliable jacket "skirt", I didn't have trouble putting him into a number of cool-looking poses. Tarkin could have been packaged without any accessories, since he was never shown to use any, so it's nice that Hasbro went the extra step of including a nicely detailed torture droid for any of that pesky Rebel scum that might find themselves in need of interrogating.One more thing before I wrap this review: Tarkin is, at the moment, a somewhat controversial figure due to the wildly different experiences reported by those who tried to find him. After his initial 2017 release was delayed, Tarkin was quietly slipped into the "Solo: A Star Wars Story" wave and is less plentiful than those figures as a result. Making things even more confusing is that several people who did find him were able to buy him for only $5 dollars thanks to an error that stores occasionally made when pricing out previous Black series figures for clearance. Because of all this Tarkin IS a bit harder to find than the average Black series figure, but my advice is to just be patient and keep an extra vigilant eye out for him. Don't hold your breath for a lucky $5 sale but don't go giving in to the $40 dollars that third-party sellers are asking for him right now either. This same thing happened to Jaina Solo last year and after hitting a peak of about $60 bucks her stock eventually filled in and she's been pretty easy to find for close to the $20 MSRP ever since. The same thing will likely happen here, and if you can wait for your local store or Amazon itself (not a partnered seller) to get him in stock, you'll pay the fair price.Tarkin is a great figure. One of the best in the line. I definitely recommend trying to get him if you can, just don't be in such a hurry that you have to pay an arm and a leg in the process.

One of my favorite Black Series figures so far! Hasbro's new face painting system shows off as it captures the late, great, (and still acting) Peter Cushing's menacing eyes as they glare over his iconic sculpted jaw rendered in perfect relief. Now, with this Grand Moff Tarkin figure, your child can pretend to be a soulless Disney corpse re-animator as they re-imagine new adventures with timeless characters forever (or as long as there is still a profit to be made selling to your nostalgia, just like they did with your father before you.)Bundle with a Leia figure for best results. Or wait until Hasbro re-releases a better painted/sclupted version of Leia from episode IV and use your Watchmen Silk Spectre figure to catch Tarkin's sinister glare in the mean time. Crossover, whoot!P.S. The GmoffT figure is fantastic, and pairing it with the interrogation droid as an accessory fits both characters' personalities perfectly (despite the two never appearing on screen together). Or at least I'd like to assume. We don't get much time on screen with him in episode IV. I like to pretend, despite never hearing it talk, that the interrogation droid is sentient, sarcastic, and speaks with a German accent. Oh, and he went to the evil Imperial medical school, so that's Dr. Interrogation Droid.

I got this figure for my personal collection for I sleep on it when It came out. It looks great and really detail. Really recommended to add it to anyone collection. Besides this guy is coming out on the bad batch. Anyways it was fast shipping and on time as mention by the seller. It was well packaged and it came in perfect.

He's a pretty nice figure but mine at least has an issue which quite frankly ruins it for me. Both his hand hinges are gummy so when bending them it seems like i'm bending the pegs as a pose to thr actual hinges. I've heated them both for a minute with a hair dryer and there still pretty bad. Apart from that i do think this headsculpt is nice and resembles the actor very well at least in certain angles. Paint is ok for the most part, has some grey on the back of his neck. I wish his torso had better movement. I do appreciate hasbro adding the interrogation droid in with him and the interrogation droid is nice to. So overall i highly recommend this figure seeing as he's an essential character to the empire as well as any star wars black series six inch collection.

Love Black Series products! My only complaint would be sizing of the character. I recently purchased the Hoth Rebel trooper and it’s decently bigger than this figure. The size comparison between the others I own as well seem off to me as far as actual scale of what the characters should be to each other.

The Black Series 6" figures are my favorite of this product line because of the detail. The figure can articulate in various positions and the interrogation droid is very detailed. This made a great addition to my collection.

This is an impressive figure for a few reasons. The biggest is due to the character himself. Tarkin is arguably one of the most powerful characters in the first movie. He is able to command Vader and this figure suits that presence. Hasbro's new facial printing technology captures the iconic likeness flawlessly. The bottom half of the figure is likely a reuse of Krennic's and it works here. The articulation on the entire figure is amazing and the inclusion of the interrogation droid was a welcome bonus. If you are a fan of the character, I highly recommend you pick this one up.

Me tiene sin palabras la calidad de los nuevos rostros,habia escuchado de lo bien que estan hechos ahora, y vi las fotos de rey y los nuevos clones pero esta figura es un modelo perfecto, tenemos al Grand Moff Tarkin, no necesita gran articulacion veo a muchos posandolo con las manos en la espalda o apuntando con una mano. Es una figura sencilla de hacer pero hasbro no escatimo en gastos,el plastico brillante de las botas perfecto,el uniforme impecalble la cabeza uff en serio las fotos del producto en amazon no le hacen justicia estoy soteniendo una pequeña escultura de Peter Cushing. no tiene accesorios, en realidad no los necesita nunca lo vemos usar pistola ni nada asi,claro viene con el droide de tortura que usa vader en leia (ouch incomodo) pero no esta de mas,siempre se agradecen cosas asi.COMO DETALLE IMPORTANTE tengan cuidado con la base del droide,yo rompi la mia al intentar sacar el droide de esta,nada que no se arregle con un poco de pegamento pero tengan mucho cuidado no es plastico flexible

Desde un comienzo me mostré escéptico en cuanto se refiere a la línea «The Black Series» de Hasbro, y es que los motivos sobraban; la escala de 6 pulgadas no terminaba de convencerme, la aplicación de pintura y los puntos de articulación eran demasiado rústicos para el nivel de precios. No tengo empacho en afirmarlo, empero; los patrones de calidad han mejorado a niveles óptimos en los últimos años, perfeccionando los métodos e innovando mediante técnicas como la impresión foto realista en el rostro. The Black Series es, por mucho y muy a mi disgusto la mejor línea de figuras actualmente, inclusive por encima de la tan relegada línea de 3.75 pulgadas «The Vintage Collection». Y por último, pero no menos importante, con respecto al servicio de embalaje que ofrece Amazon México, este sigue mostrando fuertes deficiencias, por lo que recomiendo levantar un pedido mayor a una figura para que este sea debidamente empacado.

Compre esta figura basicamente por el Androide interrogador que siempre me ha gustado mucho y no me decepciono,me encanto que se incluyera una base transparente para dar la impresion de que flota.Tarkin tiene mucho parecido a Peter Cushing y es muy buena tambien.Gracias por este set,en especial Gracias por fabricar figuras de Robots de la trilogia Original.Amazon lo envio en caja de carton duro y bien protegido.Llego a tiempo.
