This is an amazing piece of kit which is worth the extra weight. An relatively inexperienced belayer can use it to safely belay a leader in clickup mode. Acts as a 'dead mans handle' when rappelling. Just take your hands off the device in mid rappel and it will lock, allowing you to get out gear or whatever. Guide mode is really useful for bringing up a second - I always belay seconds this way now. Repels can be a bit sticky though and you need to think about the device a bit to load it right. However it always works even if you load it wrong.With practice the device gets easier to use.

This was a birthday gift for my grandson's birthday.He was over the moon with it. Safety is of great importance when rock climbing and will be a welcome addition to his safety equipment. G.H.Keable.
