Great Sequel
(There may be spoilers in the following text!)I read The Roar over a year ago and was very impressed with the novel. I have been eagerly awaiting the release of The Whisper and put it on my Kindle Touch the day it came out. Overall, I think The Whisper is a great book. There are some parts of it that are hard to understand, as in, it did not seem to be explained well (i.e. The Whisper, I have read the book twice and am still not sure how all the kids, even though they are not mutants, have access to The Whisper.) and could have been explained better. The book starts out with a bang and slows down just a little bit but maintains just the right amount of speed for the remainder of the book. I did feel as if there were some humanistic ideas in this book but it is not a huge problem. One other thing was that the end seemed rushed. Such as when Mika and Ellie defeat Ruben. The whole scene seemed rushed and incomplete. The ending was quick, but neat. For most first time writers, I find that their first book is great but their sequels are sometimes not as great as their first book. I found this to be the case with The Whisper. With a little bit more work this author will become a famed writer! Overall, I greatly enjoyed the book, even though it was not as up to par as The Roar.

First time buying used
I had gotten this book for a birthday because he had been talking about the first book and wanted to read the second. It didn't come new so I bought it used. Great choice. It came 7 days early and in pretty much perfect condition. A few marks but nothing bad. I would definitely buy again!

Fabulous
Hope, determination, perseverance and unconditional love. The author highlighted everything our world can be, if we but only follow the example of our children.

A good read
One reason I like the book is because of well it paints a picture of what’s happening in my mind. It is also a lot of fun trying to paint an image of what all the technology looks like. Emma is my new favorite author!

AN AMAZING READ
This book follows the first and continues an adventure worth taking! I looked back and thought of The Roar and smiled with every chapter! PURE EXCELLENCE! The story of the Child Army, the wall, I've not been so in love with reading in my life as I am when I read these books! If you haven't read them yet, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy of the roar and take a journey, you will love every step of the way. From the gloom of the shadows to the glinting luxury of the golden turrets, the tale of the twins is one I plan to read many times over!!

Awesome
I've read the first book and both are Amazon. Emma Clayton is a talented writer. Her books are simple and easy to read yet they have a power that not many books have. Reading this book made me yell in joy, cry and shiver with excitement. Read it. You won't regret it.

Won't Dissapoint
This is a follow up to "The Roar." I was having trouble getting my 9 year old son interested in reading something more challenging than Wimpy Kid or Captain Underpants books when we came across "The Roar." Once he started on it he couldn't put it down, and finished it in 2 weeks. He received "The Whisper" as a Christmas gift and enjoyed it just as much. This book series was all he could talk about for weeks.

My 7th grader picked this to read at school. Was surprised at the price, but we lost the classroom book and had to buy one to replace the other one.

An original and thrilling adventure
As per my 10 yr old son:-One of the two best book series ever. The other being the Wolf Brother series by Michelle Paver. So he highly recommends it.It is exciting for the beginning to the end.And why has the author only written 2 books?

My ten year old daughter loved The Roar and this sequel has proved equally compelling - she read half of it immediately after opening it on her birthday!
