What is this drive's default format? (exfat, fat32, ntfs, etc.)

Default format for any flash drive over 32GB will be exFAT. Windows will only allow you to format these larger drives as exFAT/NTFS natively. However, 3'rd party tools such as MiniTool (FREE) will allow you to format it however you like. It is assumed with larger capacities file sizes may exceed 4GB which is why FAT32 is normally is not given as an option.

What is the read and write speeds?

Read speeds were fast 100mb/s + but write speed is pretty slow. Once it starts getting warm it slows way down

would this work well for backing up an iMac?
