What are the dimensions of the spoon rest?

The base is 5.5 X 5.5 inches, and the part the spoons rest in is 1.5 inches high.

Can it hold a pot lid?

No, definitely not. The raised square parts that hold the spoons are quite small (around 1/2") and would not be able to support a pot lid. If you want a really good lid holder, I just bought this one: YAMAZAKI home 2248 Yamazaki Tower Ladle Holder-Lid Stand for Utensils in Kitchen. I'm am very happy with it.

I bought the XL one. It’s the perfect size if you use multiple utensils at once while you’re cooking and making a large meal. I wash it by hand, I haven’t used it in a dishonorable and, but it’s easy to clean and dry. One of the best things I’ve purchased.
