it seems to work I got the free plan
Well I activated my sim upon arrival and iam going to explain a little things I have found out.first you must create one account while activating Sim card .. the free plan is really free but only gives 250 minutes or texts all together, yes they require a credit card but will not charge unless you upgrade your plan to paid.another mistery is the phone thing.remember your phone must be unlocked or work on the att network.most unlocked Chinese smartphones like blu brand will not be recognized.. the imei number will not be recognized while activating but go ahead and the site will display " imei unrecognized " don't worry and go ahead the activation process. in order your phone to work turn on data services and create a new apn setting that they will give you..in my case I could not complete my simcard purchase on freeup website due to " imei unrecognized " soo i ordered thru amazon and it works no matter if your imei checking displays "unrecognized " just remember to turn on data and create a new APN settings that they will give you, also found in their website.another thing is people says you must reactivate your free plan 3 days before expiring I will do once the date arrives..service works well on att network.free 250 minutes good for a back up phone also their unlimited plans begin at $ 10 dollars a month not bad.I feel very happy with my purchase

True free service that works backed by great customer service!
This is a Gem of a service provider offering free basic phone service. Have had them for some time now, and customer service is quite good!We have two lines with them. One of those is on their $20 2GB plan which is fully paid each month by printing coupons. Unfortunately, not everyone has had continued success. Here are some tips for over a 95% success ratio on coupon credit:* Use a Windows PC and use FireFox for printing coupons.* Configure it to allow unrestricted access to the bill away FreeUp page and the coupons.com page (no blocking of any kind).* Print one coupon at a time (you can save to PDF) and close the tab that opened once the coupons.com completion green bar goes away (successful coupon print).* Repeat process (click on coupons.com link from the billaway FreeUp page to print coupon and wait till coupon completion bar goes away before closing said tab)Rewards sharing also works well! All in all, you get fantastic covers via AT&T that works on every phone that supports AT&T bands and is unlocked. One thing to note is that I was never able to get MMS to work on iPhones (android works perfectly fine). All in all, a great service that works with most phones (have yet to run into an unsupported one) so long as they have the necessary AT&T bands.

I love free service!
Got the card this morning, activated it (see below) and was up and running in no time. Since I don't need data (yet), I don't get many phone calls and I only send a handful of texts a month, this service is costing me zero. Plus I can make a little on the side (see further below) as well.Activation. There was a sticker on the outside of the card that said to go to a website to activate (not FreeUP's site). I did. To activate I had to pick a plan. FreeUP wasn't among then, and they were all more costly than the one I have on another phone which was listed among those they offered. So I ripped away the sticker and outer card. Inside was another web address for activation that goes to FreeUP. I activated there with no problem. Don't know what that other thing is about. You can watch videos, take surveys and do some other tasks to make money. Since I'm not paying for this, I have no idea (yet) how to use whatever money I make.from those things. I'll look into that further. But making the money isn't as straight-up as it could be. The first time I tried through the app and everything hung up. I killed it and tried again. That time it worked. I went through dozens of questions on a survey to find out I wasn't suitable. I tried a another survey link and finally completed one. But the site it took me to in the browser kept timing out and I'd have to back up and try again. Sometimes several times. I also did one math puzzle thing in the desktop browser. I finished it without a hitch. Not sure whether it was one or both of the completed things that paid off, but I made $0.73 off of something. That I still have no idea how to use. But like I said, I'm not too concerned with that right now.Another little glitch. I'm testing this in one city with the idea I may make it my primary when I move to another. So I looked at the coverage map. That's useless. It shows me a map. Nothing about where signals are good or bad, nothing about where there's no coverage. Just a map. I think I know which of the big carriers this is serviced by, so I can look at their map to see coverage. But it would be nice if FreeUP's map showed something other than state, city and street names, something to do with signals. Or get rid of it and provide links to the carriers involved.

waste of money if you have an iPhone
I bought this card as a way to make calls while in Europe. When I recieved the card I tried to activate it and kept getting an error message that said "internal server error: please contact customer support". Customer support is an email form that says they will get back to you in 24 hours. Glad I only wasted $7.99 on this junk, especially after realizing the only way to make phone calls in Europe is on wifi... I could have done that with my iPhone using WhatsApp.

Works fine for those who do the research!
The Sim worked just fine. I see people giving a low rating because their phone didn't work with the Sim or they didn't get any service, but they should've made sure that everything worked before even ordering. Their website has an imei compatibility check for phones and when I checked it everything was fine. It's the person's job to make sure he/she I'd picking the correct provider not just picking at random because it sounds like a great deal.
