The phone part is plastic but it does grip safely, longevity would be an unknown. The rotation has a jarring ratchet motion not smooth if wanting to rotate and pan camera while filming. Will be returning the item because I enjoy shooting video while cycling. The thumb screw is plastic and weak if you want to secure it well this could be an issue for you. What should be noted is it would work fine if you just want to hold your phone or go pro in a fixed position. If you want to do action shots and move the camera while filming I would not recommend this product. Pleasantly, the seller contacted me they were genuinely concerned and wanted to know more in order to improve their products. They are looking to update it with an aluminum nob and screw to attach the cell phone.

Love it, very good but can shake if you use it on rough trails.On the street this is very nice BUT i would say they NEED to make ALL the parts aluminum, No plastic & i would pay maybe 5-10$ more for metal because i worry the plastic may break..Very nice & also the turn thing should be made more fluid but it is solid build quality !.Thank you, very good for what i need.camera use & cell phone !Maybe the rubber ex pander for the phone needs a longer lasting elastic ?I don't know BUT i do like this So far.WILL up date with picture & video, i LOVE it .

This product is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy it.It broke when I was in the middle of the street, damaged my phone and almost caused a serious accident.See picture attached.

I had the phone pop out twice on rides and have since added elastics to better secure the phone in place when I'm out riding. The swivel action is nice and the unit feels sturdy but the clamping design isn't strong enough based on my experience.

While the idea behind this product is great, the implementation is poor and makes it a no-go for video use since your attached phone or camera will rattle and shake. Too bad.
