Bought some of these second hand in 3,4,6,8kg to try, as having a permanently damagesd wrist, I found heavy dumbbells felt unstable and wobbled about. As soon as I started using Hex's it felt more stable, comfortable and I could actually go slightly heavier! The build was solid, well finished and yes, as some people said, they smell of rubber; what a kin' surprise, the clue is in the title! It's a mild smell to say the least and after a while there's nothing, so just ignore those comments. I always tape my bar handles and did the same to these, so can't comment on the knurling, but the handle shape is sturdy, comfortable and a good fit in the hand.I spent ages looking at every version, manufacturer price and review I could, but kept coming back to these, as no one could match anywhere near the price and found no negatives in the ones I had and sure they will last a very long time, especially if you don't drop them or smash them together, but I train on my own at home, so have no need to let everyone in the Gym know how massive I am!I then bought some more to increase the range 12,14,16,18kg, and I liked them so much, I bought all the in between sizes 5,7,9,10kg.Rubber Hex Dumbbells aren't cheap, with some are eye wateringly expensive, but you probably wouldn't be able to tell one from the other in my opinion and these are by far the best value for money you will find and I would thoroughly recommend these. Just need to save up for the 20's range now.My one gripe (there's always one) is that the heavier weights have JLL and the weight stamped at each end, whereas all the others have the weight at both ends which drives my OCD crazy.

Although the product itself is as described I was frustrated that only one dumbbell was sent when I ordered a pair. Waiting another week to have a pair of dumbbells that cost £180 during a 1 month lockdown feels like I am not getting my moneys worth.Unless we are locked down for longer..

Very happy with these dumbbells. Good quality, chunky grips, nicely balanced. Look to be built to last. I have seen some comments about the smell of rubber but I don't have a problem with mine. Will gladly buy again.

Love these weights.. good value for money.. Will continue to buy from this range as and when I need too.. yes the smell of rubber is strong when they are new but it does wear off.. best buy for me in dumbbells

As many people point out they smell like a burnt condom for the first couple of weeks. The measured weights are actually 23.5kg instead of 24kg, however at least in my case they were both the same weight unlike another reviewers experience. Overall though for the money and speed of delivery, I'm still very happy with the purchase.

Whilst I think these dumbbells are overpriced I appreciate it's not much more than what anyone else is charging these days.Ordered a pair of 28s, one dumbbell arrived promptly but the other one went "missing in the post". I brought this to the attention of JLL who have been very responsive and helpful, chasing it up with the courier and keeping me posted all the way through. They've sent an extra dumbbell (now completing my set) no questions asked. Couldn't be happier with the service.

These are superb and for the price. Anyone who moans about the smell, it’s only when you first open them cause they’ve been in a box. I’ll be ordering more
