I have a 15 year old CountyLine log splitter with a 4 in.ID. cylinder/ 1.75 in. rod that began leaking fluid.These new seals were a perfect fit and not too difficult to install if you make sure the cylinder is clean and prepped.1 - Clean the open end of the cylinder and remove all paint and corrosion on the ring compression ramps leading into the opening.2 - Use plenty of grease or silicone ring lube on the rings and cylinder opening.3 - Use a 4inch piston ring compressor if you have one to ensure the rings slide into the cylinder with ease.On my first attempt to install the piston and end cap (Gland), the inner lip of the cylinder had chipped paint and corrosion on the beveled inner edge that caused the new O-rings to catch and roll out of the grooves and tear. 100% my fault for cutting corners and not cleaning up that edge. Second attempt with new rings were installed without any trouble.New rings work perfectly well with no leaks or seeps.
