Good Adhesion, Leakproof Seal
I ordered this 3.38oz Black Silicone Sealant to use when reassembling some pump components where I wanted a really good, long lasting seal. This sealant is easy to work with, and it has always given me a strong, tight, leakproof seal of the parts. I've had no problems with adhesion or leakage on both metal and plastic parts. Just make certain your parts are clean before applying this sealant and reassembly, and wait the recommended 24 hours before applying any pressure to the seal. This is the best sealant solution I've found yet. Not the cheapest - but the best performing.

Not just for gaskets!
I got this to try on a air compressor that needed the seal broke to replace a reed valve. And while there still seems to be some issues with the compressor, the sealant appears to have done it's job. Using very little of the tube, I decided to try it on some other things non gasket related, starting with a handle on my limb pruner that had come off previously. I tried fixing it with gorilla glue but that didn't hold so I tried this sealant. I've used the pruners a couple times now on several branches and so far so good! So the next thing I tried it on was a folding table with a plastic or rubbery trim the goes into a channel around the outer edge. Since it just presses into the channel, it eventually popped out on the end of the table where the 2 ends of the trim meet. And no matter how many times I've pressed it back in, both ends always pop back out eventually, enter the gasket seal. Ran a bead down the channel and pressed the ends back in and held them for just a minute to let them set and so far, again, it's held them in place. So basically it can be used like a strong caulk or glue as well if you're hesitant to get it for one small project like I was. Unfortunately, also like caulk or some glues, the tip hardens and make it difficult if not impossible to use without clearing the opening first. This happened when I was trying to use it on the table. I was turning the provided "key" that rolls the tube as you go so hard trying to push it out that the side of the tube split! So just be aware of that. Hopefully the split will "seal" well enough and next time I use it I can clear out the opening to continue using it.

Black Silicone Gasket Sealant
I do a lot of work on various engines, large and small, on my rural property, and sometimes in a pinch I need to make my own gaskets. This black silicone comes in handy. As well as metal, in can be used on all kinds of materials, including glass, plastic, ceramics and so on. The main thing for me โ it can withstand temps of 500F, so thatโs what I need on my engines. To use, make sure both surfaces youโre making a gasket for are clean (use a solvent like alcohol or xylene). Once dry, apply the liquid silicone and spread evenly and allow to set up, but remain tacky, before reassembly. This dries waterproof with high strength, but can be removed from most surfaces quite easily as well.
