My son wanted the NIV version, leather bound and small enough in size to pop into a (not-too-small) pocket or bag. This is ideal!!

They say the best bible you have is the one you actually read. Well, for me, after having bought a selection of many (20+) other bibles, not knowing which I would take to, my go-to turned out to be this unassuming one. I just love everything about it. Being a thinline compact, be aware that there are no maps, no concordance or glossary or book introductions, no references. Only the bare minimum of textual notes. But at the cost of all that, you get an extremely portable, readable, light-weight everyday-carry bible that is pleasantly bound and invitingly designed. The 7 pt type is very easy to read and the layout ideal for this size. If I should lose it (not unlikely because I do bring it with me everywhere now) I would order a new copy in a heartbeat. (By the way, about every other page kind of stick together at the top and bottom because of the gilding, and have to be gently separated. This unexpectedly turned out to be a fun way to keep track of which parts I have actually read. Unseparated = not read yet. No cheating!)

Small and thin. Worth it.
